Like most women, I currently live in a society where violence, harassment and scary shit can break out at any moment, just because I told some random asshole “no” without bothering to be nice about it. Doing that is so dangerous that most women don’t dare; after a few scary incidents, they learn to make up excuses, to smile, to be sweet and welcoming, to act as if every single random asshole on the street is a precious new friend that they would just LOVE to stand outside of the Chipotle and chat with FOR HOURS, if only cruel fate had not intervened. That’s what it’s actually like, being a woman: Playing nice with every random asshole, because this random asshole might be the one who hurts you. And then, if he hurts you anyway, they’ll tell you that you led him on.

Okay, I realize this hilariously late for Asexuality Awareness Week (which was last week), but due to unforeseen stressors, it didn’t really get done in time.

Anyway! I’ve wanted to do something like this for a while, and I’m proud of myself of actually getting a six page comic done within a week. (Not that it’s really anything super fancy, but it’s better than nothing lol) I do apologize for the massive ugly text wall that is page four but I had a hard time figuring out how to convey it visually while being kind of pressed for time. oh and the occasional copy/paste, I’m sorry for that too

So I'm in Germany. And... yeah. It's very German here. Which is awesome. And I like everything for the most part (this is not my first time in Germany, but I am in Berlin and last time I was mostly in Trier, near Luxembourg, we only spent like five days in Berlin last time). I missed the apple soda and the amazing baked goods. My host has a lovely soft fluffy kitty named Mausi and that was like the best present ever. I'm going to be here until just before Christmas. There will be some pictures but not tons because I hate looking like a tourist even when I am one. I just arrived Monday so I'm still pretty badly jetlagged and probably will be until like Sunday. But it is amazing and I hope everything goes as planned. Otherwise I am going to have to greatly revise my plans. Yesterday I turned 28 and that was also awesome. :) There's so much amazing chocolate here.

That's all for now. It's way past my bedtime already.

Right now I'm so far outside my comfort zone that my insecurity monsters are confused as fuck. They don't know whether to tell me I'm worthless, make me hyperventilate in a crowd, have an anxiety attack over meeting so many new people, or panic because I might have offended someone by speaking German incorrectly. It's kind of weirdly liberating in a way.
