I leave Sunday. Cannot wait!
Sublime Text is a sophisticated text editor for code, markup and prose. You'll love the slick user interface, extraordinary features and amazing performance.
And I did fall in love with it. Thanks to my friend for suggesting this. OBSESSED with the right side full source view scroller and the ability for split editing.
Kale juice Cosby sweater fingerstache. This is the best thing ever. Ever.
Software training and tutorials for Adobe, Microsoft, Apple and so much more at lynda.com.
A client of mine let me use their lynda subscription to help with some video editing I'm working on, and I just have to say this site is fantastic. That is all.

I am a ....
Web content editor, junior front end developer, instructional technologist, e-learning specialist, random tech assistant, web application tester? I'm not even really sure what to define myself as. When you're job searching that can be extremely scary. And after a major blow to my ego (and plans for the future) I'm pulling myself out of a hole and trying to use this identity crisis to my advantage. Instead of trying to pigeon-hole myself, I'm going to embrace my scattered niche. Of course there are areas I would love to be deemed an expert in and that's why I work on continuing my learning everyday. And hopefully soon a company will acknowledge that, and my potential. Because hey, I'm a pretty quick learner, and if it's something I don't already know, I'd love to add it to my list.
Absence makes the heart grow fonder...
Apologies for my lack of blogging the past month. Finishing up a grad school portfolio will do that to you. But I'm back...and more inspired than ever. #thankfulfor graduation!
In love with this picture.
#thankfulfor Stack Overflow.
Just finished the last PHP course Advanced Arrays in the PHP track. Ruby is next!

#Thankfulfor
Today I felt the need to share the little things I'm thankful for in this web development and design endeavor of mine. It's going to be a long challenging and sometimes frustrating ( yes I'm referring to you IE6 compatibility testing) road, But I'm choosing to travel it because I do truly love it and find satisfaction in this work. So to remind myself of the little gems in the programming world that make me smile I'm starting #thankfulfor. From now on they will be quote posts with the hashtag #thankfulfor. Today I'm #thankfulfor NEGATIVE MARGINS in CSS styling. Thank-you for existing and thankyou for being an easy fix to a pesky problem!
Design tip of the day: Making a logo with a transparent background? Make sure you save it as a PNG!
Would love to attend this if I'm in Austin by this time.
Just completed the Control Flow Switch: Course on the PHP track in Codecademy!
Sidebar: Why So Analogous?
I don't know what it is but I really LOVE making analogies between web development and pretty much anything else in the world. The other day I tried to explain html structure to my boyfriend in terms of football. It probably would have helped a lot if I knew anything at all about football. The other day I tweeted about how static debugging reminded me of playing photo hunt in the bars at college. In my last post I compared CSS to a plastic surgeon. Trust me this little obsession of mine will continue. I also realize that this little quirk may not be limited to web development. While watching an interview of Fall Out Boy at SXSW the other day I yelled out "Andy from FOB is the Kristen Stewart of the Music World!". Sorry guys.
If you happened to be interested in that interview: enjoy.

Must read when considering optimizing your sites for different screen sizes. Also another reason I love CSS so much. The plastic surgeon of the coding world.
Why is the GitHub icon so freaking adorable? I don't want to ever take it off my dock.
