There's something she finds so beautiful in decay, in decaying. In the changing seasons, the trees losing all their leaves, the waters freezing and the flowers hiding. She knows in her heart when a soul has reached its point of permanently resting, when a creature goes to hide somewhere else to make it less painful for their peers, when someone's hands start to color green and purple...

It's a sixth or seventh sense, or perhaps a blessing she's received from the Gods; something always calls her to where help is needed. People don't even need to reach her that far and ask for a favor; Hanako always knows what to do and when to do it. How her hands, so called weak, begin their duty in the most solemn way — that's how she admires death. That's how she so respectfully treats it, knowing it's something so terrifying and mysterious but that she seems to understand so beautifully, so perfectly.

Water and fire accompany her most days, to clean and purify, to help herself and everyone to let things go.
