I think there is a conception that androgens are needed, or at least are helpful, for many things that can more safely & easily be taken care of by adequate thyroid. even the most virile, most exceptional of male specimens, at the ripe age of, say, 18 — wow, can u even imagine this guy ? 😵 — probably produces only 4-5mg of androgens per day. ultimately a lot of the exogenous testosterone people are using is just being converted to estrogen anyway. trans guys must, ironically, have higher estrogen levels than cis women (who possess their own special, complex system for dealing with the estrogens, which the trans guys simply casts aside). & of course the transgender woman typically has the most of us all
