I’m going to keep this short and sweet since others have said it better and with more experience than I could. I’ve enjoyed my year(ish) here quite a bit and made some amazing friends playing Lizzie and Gigi H. I will always be grateful for how I was welcomed and the respect I was (personally) treated with, but I no longer feel as though this is the place I want to dedicate my limited free time to.
As others have said, I RP for escapism, to destress, and to have fun, and recent months have made it more and more clear that I won’t be able to do that in this community. I can’t tolerate being asked to stay silent about beliefs and issues that are important to me and to the people I play for the sake of community harmony while others are allowed to mock and denigrate those beliefs and issues freely and without punishment. I wish I could say that this was a one-time thing I could get over, but the repeated instances of seeing this type of behavior both ooc and ic on the dash from multiple people, and tolerated/perpetuated by those who are supposed to be making sure this place stays safe and welcoming, tells me that this isn’t the place for me. I can log onto twitter if I want to see people who still think “trolling” is a valid excuse for acting like an asshole in the year of our lord two thousand and eighteen.
My inbox is open if anyone wants to chat, but otherwise, thank you for the memories and thank you to everyone I’ve interacted with over the last year. It’s been real.
