I’m going to keep this short and sweet since others have said it better and with more experience than I could. I’ve enjoyed my year(ish) here quite a bit and made some amazing friends playing Lizzie and Gigi H. I will always be grateful for how I was welcomed and the respect I was (personally) treated with, but I no longer feel as though this is the place I want to dedicate my limited free time to. 

As others have said, I RP for escapism, to destress, and to have fun, and recent months have made it more and more clear that I won’t be able to do that in this community. I can’t tolerate being asked to stay silent about beliefs and issues that are important to me and to the people I play for the sake of community harmony while others are allowed to mock and denigrate those beliefs and issues freely and without punishment. I wish I could say that this was a one-time thing I could get over, but the repeated instances of seeing this type of behavior both ooc and ic on the dash from multiple people, and tolerated/perpetuated by those who are supposed to be making sure this place stays safe and welcoming, tells me that this isn’t the place for me. I can log onto twitter if I want to see people who still think “trolling” is a valid excuse for acting like an asshole in the year of our lord two thousand and eighteen.

So I’m sure people have noticed by now that Darren was on the unfollow and from what I’ve heard from Katie, JJ isn’t able to be around right now and will be dropping her people here. This is obviously sad for me, not only because I love Darren and Lizzie’s relationship but because JJ is/was a wonderful ship partner and friend. Out of respect for how great she is and how great Crissen is, and to make things easiest for anyone who picks up Darren in the future, I’m going with the least dramatic option possible for them, which is saying that they broke up because of their schedules, with it being too difficult to continue while Lizzie is working on her show and Darren is on tour. 

I’ve requested a semi-hiatus for Lizzie until Wednesday because obviously she’s not going to be her usual social/bubbly self right now and this gives me a little flexibility (shout out to our great mod team for being so accommodating!) but she will be around for texts/gif chats/etc. especially with close friends, and I will keep up with the threads I currently have going.
