Anxiety is a terrible thing You feel all of your body rising in heat temperature Whilst your red blood cells feel like they're all popping like rice bubbles And your vision hones in on one thing and everything else is black You can't concentrate properly, but you're fixed on one thing And you feel totally helpless for all that time but you also know the remedy is to step away from it all, but you just can't seem to pull yourself a w a y Your finger tips feel like needles are prickling into them And your legs get restless While your heart beats between 90-98 beats per minute, rather than the normal 75-80 Your eyes go wide and blinking them feels required more than usual whilst your mouth goes dry You feel like limestone crumbling like how you see it does in movies, although in reality you're still in one piece fixed to your spot And you feel like you're wearing blinkers, like what horses wear when they need to focus on what's ahead of them and not around them And then you feel the attack coming on Where you just want to open a door into your lungs and let it fill with air so you can breathe again After your ribs feel like they've closed in on themselves To be able to drink a gallon of water, but you can only hold your glass near your lips whilst you shake violently and water goes everywhere Anxiety is a terrible thing, and I hate that it grows more common in me every day
