the endless rumbles coming from her stomach seemed never ending now; i mean - it has been a few hours until she last ate after all. maybe getting a small snack down the bakery a few blocks down would end this annoying sound that’s followed her throughout the day. mal followed the scent trail (and obviously the gps on her phone) to look for this place; only for her to not pay attention, leading her to bump into stranger. ❝  maybe try and watch where you’re going next time. ❞  mal replied, having one more thing to be annoyed about. a sigh escapes her lips as she tries to push her way through the entrance, ❝  sorry. i didn’t mean to snap like that - guess i’m just hungry. it was my fault for not watching out. ❞ Â
“oh, i’m sorry! you’re right--i should have been more aware of my surroundings.” anna is quick to apologize to the younger woman. despite the attitude she has just been dealt, after years of her own clumsiness resulting in even worse scenarios anna understands the frustration it can cause well enough to let it roll off her shoulders. she shrugs and as the purple-haired girl goes to open the door of the bakery, she moves to hold it for her, a simple attempt to be friendly and make up for her mistake.
and it seems like she’s right to give the other a chance to explain herself as she goes on to apologize for her initial irritation. “oh, don’t worry, i know that feeling,” she replies, laughing a little in commiseration. “good thing we’re at a bakery--you don’t have to stay hangry much longer.” that was a word she had learned since coming to town; she’s quite enamored with the slang she’d started discovering and adding to her vocabulary.
