“So does that mean you’re a circle? Do you hop like a bouncy ball?” Kevin…they do not hop. They bounce.

Finishes his coffee, he hugs her tight again and nuzzles her cheek. “Much better.” Pokes her nose. “Next time you stick your tongue out, I am going to poke it.”

“What the heck Kevie..”

She snorts, amused momentarily before the hug comes along. Ugh he smells like coffee.. It’s both a nostalgic and a nauseating smell.. Even so, she returns the embrace with a sigh.

“Oh my gosh my bed!” 

Squeal escapes the bouncing blonde as she hurried and jumped onto the plush surface of her old mattress, bouncing twice before rolling onto her back and sighing. Geez she’d missed this. Kinda smelt like coffee beans but she didn’t care! It was comfortable!

The incredible pout that crosses his face is more suited to a five year old, but as far as he acted on a daily basis he was 75 going on 5.

“Sipping is for squares. Real men gulp their coffee as fast as physically possible and endure the burn.”

“That doesn’t make any sense at all.. Gil is more of a rectangle than a square.”

Oh he wanted to pick her up and hug her a lot and cry and all that jazz. But his head felt like it was splitting open. So he would save it for later when he wasn’t about to collapse at every loud noise.

That didn’t stop him from ruffling her hair however. “–My logic is just fine.” Downs half his coffee in one gulp and then whines about it being too hot.

“If you say so you old fart~”

Giggling, scrunches her nose up some in amusement. It’d been such a long time- How was she to react to this nicety all of a sudden? It was really too much. Not that she’d complain, oh no.

Kevin never really cared about that sort of thing. After all, he was well known for scandalizing the locals on a daily basis.

…Xerx did not help either.

“–You act like a cute youngin’, so therefore you’re a youngin. Do not question big brother.”

Brow raised in question, Oz honestly had to think about how to respond to this one. She really hadn’t expected such a.. Relaxed ‘welcome back’.

“But how can you forget the wonders of cake?”

He would never deny being a sap. “You don’t have to be old to be a sap.” But it sure helped, that was for sure.

“–But I guess youngins’ wouldn’t get that.” He smiled as he dumped a large amount of chocolate into his coffee and some milk and sugar before stirring it all up and pulling a chair up near the counter to sit beside her.

“–And you’re a youngin.”

“No but your sappiness makes you sound old!”

Glittering emeralds follow Kevin for a moment, then settle upon her hands which were placed back on the countertop between her knees. For a young lady she really didn’t act it.. Not that she cared.

His cheeks puffed into a pout. “No, because you’re here.” He moved to say something else, but the coffee pot beeped really loudly and he flinched and doubled over a little for a moment before sighing shakily.

“It’s…it’s all right. I just…missed you is all. I will always wait for you.” He managed a small smile and turned to pour the coffee.

Maybe he could get rid of this blasted headache.

“Sap..”

Oz snorted rather loudly, hand moving to pat his back before he moved away. Why was it everyone she held close was such a sap? Well.. Minus one or two special cases but the majority were total saps. Funny, maybe it was a sign~
