I can’t decide which overlay to use, so let’s just say they are talking during dawn / dusk 💕

Not a need for help, but something I'm curious about. Authors of long fics (10+ chapters), how do you manage your fic documents? My personal method is that every 10 chapters, I start a new doc (ch 1-10 on doc 1, ch 11-20 on doc 2 etc), but I also write fairly long chapters (average around 5k, range from 2k to 8k). What do you guys like to do?

I don’t do anything for fics because I do the (NOT RECOMMENDED) thing of writing my chapters directly in the drafts window. Fear of losing my work? I don’t know her XD

What I do at work, however, is create a folder for the whole project and then create a doc for each chapter/section of that project. I number them to keep them in the right order too.

There are definitely other ways of doing things, though, so let’s see what everyone else does.

I used to write in tumblr but after losing chapters (RIP😢) I switched to word docs. I have a folder for the series then a word doc for every chapter. Some times I have seperate document for the plan if there is one.

Ever since I discovered Google Docs, I found their Outline section really useful! It helps me navigate quickly to Chapter 15 or 21 since it's just situated at the left side of the screen. It also autosaves, which is a big help. :)
