Still can’t get over Johnny calling his definitely-not-a-shadowhunter- son “Christopher Jonathan” like sir. You may as well have named him Shadow McHunter at that point

i was never really that interested in “villain’s child” characters besides sebastian himself, mostly because jace’s existence gave his character a completely different layer to me.

but with ash it feels different, i’m genuinely happy he’s tied to the new generation’s main couple storyline and interested on how he’ll deal with the prejudice, which is agressivly active at the moment in the shadowhunter universe.

i really want cassandra to finish the universe by actually resolving the whole clave x shadow world conflict, and having a main romance tied to that shows me she’s not just gonna end it like “oh people are still corrupt and prejudiced because that’s just how the world is.” the whole leaving idris to the cohort storyline already stressed me out enough! this book will be sooooo good

To add onto the Frankenstein one. Victor(Valentine) creating a monster (Sebastian) for his own ambition + his idea of making the world better + the creature coming out ‘wrong’ (Valentine saying that Sebastian had too much demon blood in him) + leading the creature to a world of loneliness (Sebastian being shunned by shadowhunter society) + The monster asking for a companion but being denied (Clary) + leading the monster to commit mass destruction (Sebastian starting the dark war)
