I read it the other night and I was not expecting that to be a full on spicy scene. Albeit tame compared to other things I've read but still.

GIRL SAME, what the hell did she mean by "you will see why"??? My money is on them just dealing with kind of the same crap Jace and Clary were going through in TDA, so being very necessary but on the run from something/kind of in the background/leading their own mission, because the alternative would just drive me crazy.

Okay so, headcanons! I'm honestly stumped for how the proposal itself would go, nothing that I come up with is good enough. Could be a grand thing, could be something blurted over a cup of tea one night in front of the fire, idk. But it would happen when they're young, like, 23 tops (I need Julian to admit at some point in TWP that he's been dying to ask her to be his wife for years now). Once they are engaged, though, I imagine they would go tell the Blackthorns right away. And they would be so happy for them, too 🥹 it's also a great opportunity to ask Dru and Ty who they will be bringing to the wedding as their +1 because I just know Julian is dying to know about the matters of the heart of his children.

I don't know if they would tell anybody else at first. I feel like they would maybe want to keep it to themselves for a little while.

As for the wedding, definitely not a huge affair. You know that scene in qoaad after they become giants, when everyone and their grandma came to see them with presents? They were so awkward there. I can't imagine them wanting a grand ole wedding with half the exiled Clave there. Only family and close friends, like the NYC Institute and the Carstairs. It will absolutely be at Blackthorn Hall.

If this is all set to happen after TWP (which, obviously—clace and sizzy have been engaged forever and even they haven't married yet because the world is a clusterfuck) they will go on a honeymoon somewhere exciting. Not Brazil, they've already been there... maybe Asia. New demons, lots of new, different trouble to get in. A long honeymoon, though, because—and y'all can't come at me for this, this is MY headcanon 🤭—I believe they will get started on making babies as soon as they're back home. By then Helen and Aline should have their own kid and that thing spreads lol. I can just see Julian's eyes glittering with a new baby in the family. Imagine his own. And Emma is 100% on board with it, she said she wants children with him like 4 times in TDA.

So, to start with, I think they're going to have 4 children. The first 3 will be planned(ish) and the 4th will be a surprise baby years later.

Now, for some fucking reason, I decided they needed a theme for their names, and I couldn't come up with anything remotely meaningful to them so I went with Shakespeare??? I mean, the classics are for Julian and his siblings, and I could see them using namesakes for middle names but not for the first, so... yeah. Back when I was actively writing this story I had them say something along the lines of choosing good characters as names, and Shakespeare was pretty much all the fiction Emma had ever read, so the ones I went with are:

Beatrice Livia. She's the oldest, and a shotgun baby. Not that she's the only reason they got married, but she definitely pushed up the celebrations. She sketches but hasn't taken up painting like her father. Best fighter out of the 4, but that might be because she's the oldest and has been under Emma's tutelage for the longest time. Blackthorn brown hair and blue-green eyes.

Lysander John. Almost 2 years younger than Bee, he's the family bookworm and his favorite uncle is Ty. He takes a lot after him, but is much more opinionated and has a shorter temper. He's very observant; he's the first to clock Bee and Lucas (sizzy's son) have something going on. He's closest to her out of all his sisters. Blond hair, blue-green eyes.

Isabella Cordelia. The middle name is after Emma's own and also her mother's first name. She's 2 and a half years younger than Sander and she lives in a fantasy world of her own. She began making up stories when she was very little and only got worse after Mark and Kieran incentivized her with tales from Faerie. Some of her stories are particularly brutal, especially for someone so young, but she's eavesdropped on a lot of adult conversations. Brown hair, blue-green eyes.

Aurelia Eleanor. Now, I know that is not a name from Shakespeare, but by now I—I mean Emma and Julian had already run out of ideas, and a Roman name was a nice way of honoring Julian's father and uncle. She's the baby of the family, 7 years younger than Bella. In my story she's only a 2 year old toddler so pretty much all she does is trail after Emma and Julian. She loves Bella's stories and is happy to act out any and all instructions from her older sister. Brown hair, brown eyes.

Aaaaand that's about all I've got. I did write some of Bee and Lucas' story, and I have another fic that I'm much more likely to post where she's an only child and her name is not because of Shakespeare (that one is a canon divergence where Emma and Julian run away together before the ending of Lord of Shadows and I'm reaaaally really liking how it's turning out).
