Crunch, slurp, and an awful sniff as she wiped at her dirty face with her hand. It seemed to do more bad than good, streaking milk across her cheek. “X-23_4GAB. Gabb-y. That’s what I like anyway. I like Gabby. Oh, and this!” She hastily picked up the bowl, as if to show Laura for the first time what she’d been staring at for the past few minutes. “This is really good. Where’d you get it?” She dropped her spoon back in for another big scoop - but she had questions of her own, questions that could clearly not wait until she was finished the bite in her mouth. “So, I mean I found you and I’m not knocking that, I’m really glad I did! But uh, I thought he’d be here. Y’know, our host.”

Her lips pulled back as Ariel became endearingly affectionate, brushing her hair aside. Gabby was going to have to do something about her hair one of these days - maybe a barrette. "Right. Yeah. No, of course," she babbled as they went to sit down. “I just- I haven't been totally honest with you. Which isn't fair, because this- all of this-” Gabby waved all around them, gesturing to the grandoise of it all. “-it's really nice and so I should just tell you, whether you get mad or not.”

It’d been long since they’d crossed the border. Sheep herded along by their grumpy shepherd and the lovely wife of his. The others knew. Of course they did. All of them couldn’t help but feel a little separated from the happy family unit that was Logan-Ariel-Jamie. Alright, happy is a bit of an exaggeration. Read: grumpy shepherd. But the longer she drew this out, the more she felt uncomfortable. She wasn’t lying persay, but it was starting to feel more and more like one. Which was why Ariel got an unexpected tug on the sleeve that afternoon. “Hi, so- this is gonna be a little weird but we should kind of really talk.
