like … we have a bunch of amnesia cases in the show but none as a result of this kind of trauma, and this setup could make for interesting scenarios and AUs.

there are variations in the sun card but the bent arm of the twin on our left is fairly consistent.

also, note that thing near tarot!nathan’s foot may resemble something like a stream or river, not unlike the one sometimes seemingly depicted in versions of the sun card # # #

and while there are no teardrop things, i feel like the sun’s blown shooting stars may certainly resemble the presence

while the lovers card is modernly associated with gemini in regards to the space stuff, the two characters in the sun are, in fact, gemini. that pose with the arms & similar ones that is reoccurring in TdM sun cards are in a ton of gemini depictions. for example: # # # # # # 

the twins on the TdM cards aren’t always both male, like the typical Gemini symbol; in fact, apparently the early cards had fraternal male and female twins. some examples of the male female gemini # #

really interesting is that the gemini symbol itself, outside the tarot, haven’t always been strictly male-male (like Castor and Pollux). you can read/see more about it here. 

there might be a little bit of the lovers intended there, since there has often been a connection between the couple in the lovers and the one in el diablo*

the TdM’s el diablo also has the two figures chained together imagery # # # # # # # #  here the figure on our right is noticeably female # ;; the thing is that most of these images have the figures chained to a pedestal or whatnot that the sinister figure is standing on. these, though, are two where the two figures are chained to each other # # the latter has female & male with chained together via a collar, and while the brown haired one is on our left and the fair haired one on our right, the sexes are swapped. 

i could probably go more into this, provide further evidence and explore more the significance, but i have a really big essay thing tomorrow so i really need to get back to that

i will say that a noticeable difference between malina’s gemini card and the sun cards (the gemini imagery in general), is that the twins are almost always touching each other one way or another. most of the times its a reciprocal shoulder/arm embrace, though sometimes its just the left twin’s hand on the other’s chest, or the left one’s arm across the right’s shoulder. tarot!nathan’s and tarot!malina’s hands closest to the other seem open as though to hold hands; knowing what that does it’s not hard to see why they wouldn’t be holding hands. still, there’s a distance between the two that’s not really present in the sun cards or gemini images. i wonder if that’s significant?

SO, I’m totally going off on a limb on this, but there is literally nothing stopping me because Tarot is my thing. That and Carnivals.

While we are on that note, let’s talk about a potential plothole. Before teleporting Noah to where Malina stood under the clock tower, fighting off the 2nd H.E.L.E., Nathan asked Noah what they should do since nothing was working to prevent the H.E.L.E. from happening.

Noah replies, “Take me back to Gateway. To the end of the world.”

Nathan teleports, but he and Noah don’t appear in Gateway. They appear where Malina is in the present.

Did something happen off-screen to show they went to Gateway?

Is that even the real Noah sacrificing himself to save the world?

And why wasn’t Nathan as sad as Malina was watching his grandfather die?

Is it because he knew Noah was actually alive in Gateway?

…because that clock tower in the present is definitely not Gateway.

And before Noah even suggested he be taken to Gateway, Nathan says, “Save you, save the world.” Is that why Noah might’ve been saved and taken to Gateway? Or is it because Nathan saved Noah back with the tornado?

Whatever it is, Noah’s almost-last words to Nathan could provide some clues for possible continuations.

He has apples and boxed milk in his fridge. He lives here. Did he just get that peanut butter out of the fridge? If so, then it should spread that easy. Maybe it’s some other kind of nut butter? But aren’t they all tough to spread when cold? I think I’ll imagine he only got the jelly/jam out of the fridge.

Here’s my thought:

Rene’s ability has three parts that always struck me as separate:

1. Blocking powers.

2. Knocking people out.

3. Erasing memories.

But after what Tommy/Nathan said in the last episode of Heroes Reborn, I had an idea about how to tie them together.

Let’s say Rene’s ability involves suppressing the creative energy within a person, their ‘vitality’. That’s why it foremost suppresses their powers, because that’s the biggest ‘energy’. The next biggest energy is their awareness and consciousness. That’s why he can put people to sleep. Those two more or less make sense. It’s the last that I needed Tommy’s comment in Reborn to work out. 

Memories. Memories define a person. A person’s memories ARE them. They define their perception of time and how they feel themselves to move through time, constantly accumulating new memories as souvenirs of where they’ve been. If Rene’s power drains a person’s vital energy, then there is nothing more draining of their essence than taking out their memories. It erases part of who they were.

But in the Heroes verse, this shifting of poles was going to happen at the same time as a huge solar flare. So we were going to have our shields down at the same time the worst attack was launched at us.

some observations

nathan and malina received different cards

they’re italian; i gemelli (the twins) and il distruttore (the destroyer)

in malina’s the sun seems to be blowing shooting stars down

there’s a brunet male wearing green && a blonde female wearing red (thus eerie resemblance) 

nathan’s is almost exactly the same as malina’s – the two people on the card are the same exact as in i gemelli and you can even see part of the sun

the two main differences are the ominous green-robed hooded figure && the fact that the twins have their wrists chained together and seem to be chained to each other via collars

so between “the destroyer”, the ominous hooded large figure blocking out the sun, and the twins being chained, Nathan’s card seems a lot more foreboding/baleful (so i am worried for these bbies once again)

the back of the cards have a skull inside a sun, the earth inside a green circle, and some black thing inside a yellow circle

angela told nathan that he was an old wolf with a crown of thorns in her dream

and crown of thorns is associated with Jesus, specifically when he was crucified

the ultimate martyr, who died so we all could be saved

and that’s what noah did

he was a grandpa who sacrificed himself to save the world, and did it out of love

brightside – Jesus is also famous for (well everything) coming back from the dead !

So basically this is looking a lot like one my theories for the finale that I made a post about a while back, with Tommy getting shot in the head
