There are lots of things you can do to improve your writing skills. Writing every day is good, so definitely keep doing that. You could try doing writing warm ups. There are lots of websites that have prompts that can exercise different aspects of writing.

Try not to focus on making sure it's long enough. Your best bet is to just let the story come together on it's own. Whether it turns out to be a novella or a novel, as long as the story is good, it won't matter.

In order to keep it interesting, you should do a lot of planning. Write down the important points of each chapter (if you have chapters). Create an outline.

Secondly, you have to do a shitty first draft, as we like to call it. Just write EVERYTHING down. Get the whole story down without editing or changing anything. After you get the whole thing typed out, read through it and make your own edits. Take things out, add things in.

After that, if you're happy with it, find someone else to edit it for you.

We haven't had any questions directed at specific editors yet, but let me just explain how we work things with the questions.
