Gilded Dreams

They met on Illium in the city of Nos Astra during a guns, gear and gizmo’s trade show convention. It was towards the end of the day when their paths crossed. The trade show was winding down and visitors were headed back to their hotels. So when the main support of the conference center came down, there were minimal casualties. Denai had put herself in charge of taking care of the youngest members of house T’soni who had come to peruse the trade show and get some R&R at the same time as she. So when the disaster happened she was very determined not only to locate them, but if necessary, rescue them out of the danger zone when it became a problem.

This put her into the collapsed building where Léaina was. It was Denai searching for others to help that made them cross paths.

Léaina was caught below heavy debris that pinned her to the ground, literally. A piece having pierced through her chest and jammed into the floor beneath that left her struggling to free herself. Even with higher than average strength for a woman, she was still a human female with no biotics... There was blood on the floor, and in her clothes, it stained her hand and the beam that pinned her, but there wasn't near as much as there should have been. When Denai found her she wasn't sure to be relieved or terrified, and quite frankly, felt both in dizzying degrees. In the end she was grateful that it was just Denai who had pulled the beam from her body, rather than a rescue squad and their cameras.

While Léaina is very cautious about when and how she employs her abilities, in such circumstances it was near impossible not to give at least some of her secrets away,

Denai was sharp and very aware that what she should have been doing was holding this humans hand as her life passed away...  Against all logical wisdom Denai pulled the beam out at the humans request, and by the time Léaina had the strength and the energy to flee, Denai had put enough together to capture her by the hand stilling her escape. “Wait!” They stared at each other for a heartbeat. Denai releasing the humans hand when she fell into a defensive posture. She held both her hands up in a sign of peace “Please... can you do... that for others?” She continued when the woman didn’t say anything. She knew that time was ticking by, seconds that mattered... "Can you or cant you!” She wasn’t yelling but there was a note of hurry in her tone. She needed to know! “There is yet another I must find!” She said holding up her omni-tool with its beeping coordinates. “She may need your help... I plead only for her.” The maiden had only been trapped... and it was Denai and the Maiden who had dug her free. Since then, Léaina  has kept in contact with Denai trying to find ways to help repay the debt she accrued that day. Little by little trust and a friendship has grown between them. (Special note, Léaina is the oldest living thing that originated from earth. When man began, she awoke.)

1 She experienced the destruction of Thera in 1620 BCE when the volcano erupted nearly wiping out the Minoans that lived there called Therians.

It is believed that the island of Thera was the true life story that birthed the Legend of Atlantis. Recent excavations revealed the parts of the island that survived the blast, were buried under 60ft of pumice and ash.

2 She is unable to resurrect the dead. Life must be present for her to heal them. She can not give life where there is none, However there is still life in the recently dead and therefore she can resuscitate them by healing what caused their death.

3 To be intimate is to show great trust, as her powers are first charged, and then unwillingly released, sometimes in rather spectacular ways.
