Not used the process of trying to mask his emotions on a human face, Alix frowned sullenly, not wanting to admit just how homesick he was. It wasn’t appropriate for an andalite warrior to feel such things. Even if this mission had gone flawlessly he’d have been away for a year or more, it had only been a few months. He should be stronger.
Perking up at her mention of food, he eagerly jumped at the distraction, “Yes! Will it be like that chooo-kolite?” he asked recalling a candy bar he’d been given during one of his previous experiments with morphing a human. It had been a delicious mess that had seemed turn amuse and horrify the humans in witness of the event, “That was good. Guh-duh.”
About to reach out seeing that sulk on his face, Lucy very nearly jumps when Alixeth suddenly perks up. “Um, sure, one of them is like that.” She had only planned on one thing for lunch but now that he had brought up the chance for something sweet too she was interested as well.
Laughing shortly, she pushes herself up before holding a hand out to Alix in turn. “Come on, I know the best places to eat around here anyway. Even if everyone else thinks they aren’t.” Tastes aside, she considered both places better than the choices of the rest of the team.
Struggling to find his balance as he got up, finding it strange not having a tail despite this body having evolved to be like this, Alix wasn’t sure at first what the offered hand was for. When he finally realized he was meant to take it and Lucy helped pull him upright again, he marveled at her arm strength. Human arms were so strong compared to andalite arms. Even without the extra weight of his full body, a maneuver like that would’ve been impossible with his normal arms, he’d have pulled something for sure.
“You’re arms are very nice,” he told Lucy earnestly as he stood, “Thiiiiick. Ick. And large,” and with a naive grin began looking around for where the tasty thing might be that he was going to get to try.
Giving Alixeth time to get up, knowing he was still adjusting to having only two legs, Lucy doesn't mind the momentary lack of understanding regarding her offer of help. She hadn't really explained it anyway, and he got it in the end.
The attempt he'd made at a compliment however was another story. "That, uh, that isn't really a good thing?" Hauling parts around for the car she'd been restoring had done wonders for building up some lean muscle but Lucy was still self conscious about it. Most of the other girls at school didn't nearly have the same limb strength. "Thanks anyway?"
Thinking back to how delicate his arms normally were she supposed it made sense that he would find that impressive. With Alixeth looking around she claps lightly to get his attention again. "It's not much of a walk, but d'ya think you can handle it?"
