You woke up this morning feeling refreshed after a well-deserved good night of sleep. The day before you had stayed at STAR Labs the whole time assisting the team with a very hard to get metahuman. The Flash was able to catch her and take her to the lab, where you were responsible for locking her up in the pipeline.Â
You still quite donât know what her powers are exactly, but during the fight she was disappearing and appearing all the time and fast through the crowd, it was even hard to figure out which one of those people was actually her. After all of that adventure you felt so tired that when you got home it felt like you had passed out on your bed.Â
You slowly started opening your eyes and stretching your limbs, feeling your clothes a little tight to your body. While you stretched your legs you felt your feet dangling from the bed, causing a cold sensation. You sat up a little confused, running your hands through your hair. And thatâs when you felt something was really wrong.
Your hands went for your locks, but they werenât there anymore, the back of your neck was completely bare. You brought your hands down and analyzed them, noticing that your small hands with nails painted black were now big, with long and lanky fingers. It all felt like it was happening in slow motion, just like a movie scene. You started yelling and ran out of bed, standing in front of the mirror in your dresser and, when you saw your reflection, you couldnât believe it. It wasnât you at all. The reflection was of Barry Allen.Â
Your screams were cut short by pure confusion. You got closer to the mirror, crinkling your eyebrows and running your hands on your face and then on your body. You moved around and made weird faces to check if the reflection was actually right, and it was.Â
âYep, thereâs definitely something wrong hereâ, you whispered in disbelief. âDid I take something last night? What the hell is happening to me? I must be dreaming, this isnât realâ, you tried to reason with yourself.
You jumped a little when your cellphone started ringing, taking you by surprise. You saw Ciscoâs face on the caller ID and quickly picked it up.
âCisco, oh my Godâ, you said rapidly. âThank God you called, I really need helpâ.
"Y/N, is it you? Your voice is -â
âI think Iâm sick with a strong fever or hallucinating and oh my God I think I might be dying!â, you cut him.
âYup, itâs Y/Nâ, he chuckled, but soon returned to a serious tone. âListen, youâre not dying, I think... But something happened. You need to come here right nowâ.
âHo-How do you know something happened?â.
âBecause your body is here, but it isnât youâ, he sighed. âItâs Barryâ.
âWhat the hell?â, you exclaimed loud.
âCome. Right. Nowâ.
He hung up on you and you very nervously started to get ready to leave. You searched through all your wardrobe and drawers to find something you could use, because clearly Barryâs 6 foot tall body wasnât going to look so good on your skinny jeans or skirts. You luckily found some old sweatpants and a hoodie that he had left at your place on one of your movie nights. As for shoes, you truly couldnât find anything that would fit on his feet.
âNow how the hell am I going to dress up? I canât just see Barryâs naked body like thisâ, you talked to yourself. âWait a minute!â, a mischievous grin approached your lips and you just started running.
Suddenly everything in the room started flying away as it was taken by yellow lightning. When you stopped, you were already fully dressed and, well, barefoot. You decided to try his powers one more time and ran to get to STAR Labs. You stumbled a few times and missed the way, but eventually you got there.Â
You entered the cortex to find all your friends standing there, eyes widened looking back and forth between you and...you. Except it wasnât you, it was just your body, dressed in really oversized jeans and a sweater.Â
âWhat the actual hell?â, you said looking at the body right in front of you.
âY/N, is it really you?â, Barry approached slowly, looking at himself up and down, shocked. âWhat is going on, you guys? This is messed upâ, he yelled.
âWhy am I Barry?â, you said in the same tone as him. âDo you know how this happened?â.
âWe are not sure yetâ, Cisco said.Â
âAnd how exactly can we change this?â, Barry inquired.
âWe are also not sureâ, he said almost scared.
âThis is completely insane! How is this even possible?â, you were freaking out.
âWell, to be fair a lot of weird, impossible things have already happened to us, so...â, Iris spoke up.
âYeah, people with powers being criminals and stuff, but never waking up in my friendâs body! Itâs a girlâs body!â, he exclaimed. âI really really need to pee but I canât just do that! I put on these clothes on top of my pajamas!â, he was desperate and everybody was visibly stiffling a laugh.
âUm, thank you for not looking at my naked body?â, you said. âI also havenât...you know. I used your speed to get ready so I wasnât able to really see anythingâ.
âOkay, thatâs... nice, I guess. And why the hell are you not wearing shoes?â, he looked down, raising an eyebrow.
âBarry, Iâm a small person in, like you said, a girlâs body. I donât have menâs footwear lying around at my placeâ.
âThatâs fairâ.Â
âAlso, I need to pee as well. And Iâm like, really hungryâ.
âRight, which takes me back to HOW THE HELL DO WE FIX THIS?â, Barry desperately looked at everybody.
âOkay, letâs calm down a littleâ, Caitlin said. âWhy donât we all sit down and relax for a moment? Letâs get you something to eat and then weâll talk, calmlyâ.
You and Barry looked at each other with an understanding look and, with a sigh, you both sat down at a nearby desk. Iris and Cisco brought you coffee and some pastries. You carefully ate them, trying to calm yourself down.
âThis just doesnât make any sense, you guysâ, you talked lowly. âIf Barry and I had fought and needed to learn a lesson to see how much we care about each other Iâd understand, but literally nothing happenedâ.
âYou- Are you basing this on Freaky Friday?â, Cisco asked.
ââŚMaybeâ.
âGlad Iâm not the only oneâ, Barry said almost to himself.
âAlright, letâs just put our brains together for a momentâ, Iris said. âWhat happened to you that was different? Like, did you walk near some place with radiation or something? Anything you remember that couldâve started this?â.
âNo! I was here the entire time yesterday and then went straight home!â, you replied.
âBut how?â, you asked. âShouldnât it have happened to everybody, then?â.
âMaybe it was something specific with you two, I donât knowâ.
âWhy donât we just relive yesterday, shall we?â, Iris suggested. âLetâs go step by step. How did the day start?â.
You both proceeded to tell them about your previous day in detail, going through everything.
ââŚThen Barry brought that meta back here, I cuffed her, locked her up and went home. Honestly, after that I donât really remember much, I kinda just passed out and woke up this morning, like thisâ.
âNow that youâve mentioned, I also donât remember much from when I got home. I think I just slept right awayâ, Barry added.
âInterestingâŚâ, Caitlin said. âTo me it looks like thereâs only one thing in common in both routinesâ.
Everybody kept looking at her with an unknowing look, she just sighed.
âThe metahuman, you guys!â.
âBut we donât even know what her powers are!â, you said.
âExactly, what if sheâs a body switcher?â, Cisco inquired a little more excited than he should be.
âIs that even a thing?â, Barry asked.
âMaybe it is! Maybe thatâs why we kept losing her in the crowd, because every time she would have a new body!â, he exclaimed. âHa, thatâs kind of amazing!â.
âDo you think it may happen when she touches someone? Because that could be how you both got switched: Y/N was the last person that touched her to put on the dampening cuffs and Barry was the one before that to bring her in. Maybe she used the last wave of her powers right when you touched her, before the cuffs could restrain themâ, Caitlin explained.
âThatâs a lot to processâ, Barry said rubbing his temples.
âThat could be it, I guess? But that still doesnât answer how Barry and I can get back to normalâ.
âGood thing the meta is just downstairsâ, Iris said with an arched eyebrow. âWhoâs in?â.
âOh, I amâ, you said getting up. âShe better give me my body backâ.
âHell yeah!â, Barry agreed with you, getting up from his seat.
âWait, first we need a planâ, Iris suggested. âSheâs not just going to change you back for nothingâ.
âYeah, Iris is rightâ, Cisco agreed. âWe need to offer something that she canât refuseâ.
You talked for a moment and elaborated your plan. Then, you made your way to the pipeline. Before that, they advised you to put on Barryâs Flash suit to not give away his identity. As the gate of her cell opened up, you could see the womanâs purple hair starting to appear behind the glass window, a devilish grin on her lips at the sight of you.
âTook you long enoughâ, she said in a mocking tone.
âWhat the hell did you do?â, Barry inquired.
âWhat do you think I did, pretty girl? Or should I say, pretty boy?â, she laughed.
âSo it was you!â, you said frustrated.
âYeah, it was, Sherlockâ, she replied with an unamused tone. âHonestly, I thought youâd have put the pieces together a little fasterâ, you all looked at each other and rolled your eyes. âReally? Câmon! Faster, got it? Because heâs The Flas-â.
âListen here, ladyâ, you said louder, banging your hand on the glass. âYouâre going to tell us how to undo this, and youâre going to do it right now!â.
âWhy exactly would I do that?â, she raised an eyebrow.
âBecause we are here to offer you a dealâ, Cisco stepped in.
âA deal?â, she scoffed.
âDo you really think weâd just come here and expect you to help us on your own free will? Câmon, weâre not stupid and we know you arenât eitherâ.
âWhat could you possibly have to offer me?â.
âYour freedomâ, he said matter of factly. âSwitch my friends back and weâll let you goâ.
âYouâll let me go? Just like that?â, she crossed her arms. âI donât buy itâ.
âWell, you shouldâ, Barry said. âBecause this is literally the only way we have of going back to normal and we would very much like our own bodies backâ.
âHuh, you have an interesting pointâŚâ.
âTake it or leave it. But just think about it: if you leave it, nobody wins. We stay like this forever and you stay locked up foreverâ, you affirmed.
âFineâ, she groaned. âIâll switch you backâ.
âThatâs what I thoughtâ, Cisco smirked.
Iris pressed down the button of the cell and the glass opened, letting the woman step out. Cisco carefully removed the cuffs from her wrists and she told you to come closer, which you did attentively. She placed one hand on each of your shoulders and released her powers. You could feel a tingling sensation followed by dizziness. You felt your body shutting down for a moment, and, when you opened your eyes again, you were you.
âIâm back!â, you said smiling, running your hands through your body.
âSo am I!â, Barry exclaimed, rushing to give you a hug.
âThatâs cute and all, but can I go now?â, the woman said calmly.
âOh, yeah, thatâsâŚâ, Barry started saying as he ran around her, putting the cuffs back on. ââŚnot gonna happenâ.
âWhat?â, she yelled angrily. âWe had a deal!â.
âWell, sometimes the good guys lie, tooâ, he said with a smirk. âYouâre going nowhereâ, he started taking her back into the cell.
âThis is not fair!â.
âPutting me in a manâs body was also not fair, soâ, you gave her an ironic smile. âEnjoy your timeâ.
As you were leaving the pipeline you could still hear her screaming and threatening you, but all you did was laugh and high-five each other.
âShe really fell for that, manâ, Cisco chuckled.
âToo bad for her, I guessâ, you said nonchalantely. âAll I know is that now I can pee, take a shower and get rid of these gigantic clothes, thank you very muchâ.
âAnd I can put on my shoesâ, Barry said and you chuckled. âWanna a ride home?â, he offered putting his arm around your shoulder.
âObviously. Iâm in a hurry to be myself again!â.
âYou know what? Tonight is actually movie night. Are you still down?â, he asked.
âSure, as long as we donât watch Freaky Friday, thoughâ.
You laughed together as Barry rushed you home, both of you eager to get back to normal right away.
If youâre up for it, can you write a Barry Allen x female reader role reversal AU one-shot? The reader is the Flash and has Barry's backstory from the show (her mother was killed when she was 11, her father was framed for her death and sent to jail, and she was adopted by Joe West and became the sister of Iris West) and Barry is her boyfriend and a scientist working at S.T.A.R. Labs with his friends Cisco Ramon and Caitlin Snow. Perhaps you could call it Fastest Woman Alive. No smut, please.
Hello, friend! I actually already have a story thatâs role reversal, it starts from the beggining where reader woke up from the coma and found out she could run and all that...
Itâs called Itâs You if you want to check it out!
Requested by carolshiguti-blog: Barry forgets about his and the reader's one year anniversary and then tries really hard to make up to her.

This morning you woke up earlier than usual for a Saturday, but you were energized nonetheless. You wanted to have some extra time to prepare a special breakfast in bed for your boyfriend since today marked one year that you've been together. It hasn't been all that easy and normal as couples usually are, considering that you met after a metahuman attack and things just started getting more dangerous after you've learned that Barry Allen really is The Flash, but your love for each other has been able to push through all that and survive, so this was definitely a reason to celebrate.
You were quietly preparing the food since Barry was kind of a light sleeper. You made his favorite chocolate chip pancakes and served them on the plate with freshly cut strawberries and bananas, plus some crispy bacon, scrambled eggs, buttered toast, orange juice and coffee. Besides being a special day, Barry does need a lot of calories per day, so you just went over the top with it.Â
When it was all prepared you settled everything beautifully in a tray with a small vase and a single flower in it. You carefully took it in your hands and started walking towards your bedroom, pushing the door open with your hip.Â
While you entered you took sigh of Barry on the bed, only partially covered by the blankets and still in a deep slumber. You placed the tray on your nightstand and crawled onto the bed, gently positioning yourself on top of him. You started placing soft kisses across his face and lips.Â
As he felt the tingling sensation on his skin, Barry let out a sigh and started opening his eyes, immediately smiling when he saw you so close to him.Â
âHeyâ, he mumbled.
âHey!â, you replied with a giggle. âGood morning, babe!â, you finished your sentence with a peck on his lips.Â
You got out of the bed as he sat up, taking the tray and bringing it to him. His eyes went wide at the sight of all the amazing food.
âWowâ, he smiled bright. âWhatâs all this? It looks incredible!â.
âI just thought Iâd surprise my boyfriend with a special breakfastâ, you said with some fake modesty.
âYeah? And what exactly did I do to deserve such an amazing surprise?â.
âWell, you know... Itâs a special day after allâ, you said happily as you handed him a cup of coffee.
âIs it?â, he took a long sip. âAnd what makes it so special? Did something happen?â, he genuinely asked and you laughed.
âCâmon, you know why!â
âI really don-â, he started saying but his cellphone buzzing cut him. âOh, crap. Itâs from Star Labs, itâs an emergencyâ.
âWhat? Right now?â, you questioned not even trying to hide your disappointment.
âYeah, baby, Iâm so so sorry, but I have to go!â
âBarry, are you serious right now? You didnât even eat anything!â.
âThereâs no time now, I gotta goâ, he looked at you with sorry eyes and kissed your lips. âIâll make it up to you later, okay? Then we can talk about your special newsâ.
âItâs not news, Barry, itâs-â
âI love you, Y/Nâ, he interrupted you and ran off, the gust of wind leaving your hair messy.
â- our anniversaryâ, you finished your sentence, but there wasnât anybody there to listen anymore. Your eyes started filling with tears as you looked at the breakfast tray laying there untouched and the thought of Barry forgetting your special day creeped in.
Barry arrived downtown with the team following suit, still sad about leaving you behind with all the work you've done for him. Together, they worked to take down the meta who was robbing the city bank and had the ability to cause earthquakes. Some of the people who got injured due to the falling building pieces were taken to the hospital quickly.Â
You were watching everything from your TV. You could barely see The Flash running around with the victims while Cisco, Killer Frost and Ralph tried to distract the villain to avoid causing more harm. Your breath was stuck in your throat, both with worry for your boyfriend putting himself in this dangerous situation and sadness for his neglect towards your relationship.Â
After about 40 minutes of fighting, all was said and done. Killer Frost was able to freeze the meta in place, giving the others some extra time to put him down. He was taken to Iron Heights immediately by CCPD and the team returned to Star Labs, where Iris and Joe were calling the shots.
Caitlin advised Barry to stay there for a couple of hours in observation since he appeared to have fractured a rib. He texted you about it but he never got a reply.
âI think Y/N is mad at meâ, he mumbled.
âWhy is that?â, Iris inquired, one eyebrow quirked.
âI had to leave in the middle of something important she had planned for us this morningâ.
âOk, save us the detailsâ, Cisco grumbled from the back of the room.
âItâs not that, it was just a nice breakfast!â, Barry defended himself. âAnd she kept saying today is a special day, so I think she wanted to tell me something important, she just didnât get the chance to yetâ.
âWell, maybe that âsomething importantâ was supposed to be a âcongratulations on our anniversary, darling!ââ, Iris quipped.
âWhat?â.
âBarry, todayâs been a year that you and Y/N are together!â, Caitlin said.
âWHAT?â, he asked again, louder this time. âOh my God. Oh my Godâ.
âDid you seriously forget? I canât believe youâ, Iris scoffed. âSheâs been talking about it for like a month!â.
âWell, seems to me that she is indeed mad at you. With a good reasonâ, Joe said crossing his arms.
âSomeoneâs in troubleâ, Cisco said in a singing tone.
âOk, this is really not helping meâ, Barry started pacing across the room. âIâm such an idiot, I canât believe I forgot it! What do I do?â.
âYou could start by going to her place and begging for forgiveness. On your kneesâ, Iris suggested.
âYeah, good callâ, he got in his running stance as Caitlin called after him.
âWait, your- â, but he was already gone, only the heavy gust of wind left behind. â- ribs! Oh well, letâs just hope nothing happensâ, she shrugged.
In a matter of seconds he was at your door, knocking on it desperately while calling your name. The noise startled you and you rushed to the door, swinging it open.
âBarry, are you crazy?â, you angrily whispered. âThis is a building, thereâs people all around!â.
âIâm sorry, I just- â, he started saying, a little out of breath. âIâm sorry. About everythingâ.
âSo, did you figure it out?â, you crossed your arms over your chest, leaning against the doorframe. He nodded his head, a regretful look in his eyes. âWho had to remind you, though?â, you asked with a sad tone in your voice.
âI- Thatâs not important. Can I just come in, please? Letâs talkâ, he stepped forward to make his way inside, but you put a hand in front of him.
âI donât think thatâs a good idea, Barr. I donât really feel like talkingâ.
âBaby, please!â, he pleaded. âI know Iâm an idiot, but please, let me fix this!â.
âNot right now. Iâm really upset, you know?â, you sighed. "I just really want to be alone. Please, leaveâ.
âY/N...â
âGoodbye, Barryâ, you said closing the door in front of you. Barryâs sad eyes locked with yours as it shutted.
Barry rushed back to his place, feeling helpless and fearing the worse. He couldnât get your sad eyes out of his mind.
âYou know what?â, he said to himself, sitting up on the couch. âEnough brooding around, Iâll fix this right nowâ.
He got his cellphone and called Joe, asking if he still had the contact of the Jittersâ owner. Once Joe gave him some help talking to the guy, Barry started putting his plan into practice.
After the whole afternoon of preparation, even being The Flash, he headed home only to shower and change into something more anniversary worthy. He took the time to handwrite you a thoughtful note apologizing and inviting you to Jitters tonight. He ran to your apartment and slipped it under your door, ringing the doorbell to get your attention.
Once you found the paper on you floor you picked it up and read it, eyes glossing slightly with tears. They moved to the little corner of the paper where it said âCome dressed up ;)â and you couldnât help but chuckle.
âWhat are you up to, Barry Allen?â.
You were still feeling hurt but also curious, so you decided to give him the benefit of the doubt and comply to his invite. You quickly changed into a simple black cocktail dress with some black pumps and made your way to Jitters.
Getting there it was all dark and empty, so clearly you felt confused. You took a chance and pushed the door anyway, which actually opened to your surprise.Â
When you looked up you couldnât hold your smile when you saw several red heart shaped letters hanging from the ceiling. You walked closer to them and noticed they all had pictures of you and Barry, where he made little love declarations as the captions, all describing something special about your relationship. For the moments he wrote where he didnât have a picture to use, he drew two stick figures to represent you. You looked at every one of them carefully, wiping the tears rolling down your cheeks.Â
âThat was the night when we first kissed. I thought I was going to pass out, but I think I did a pretty good jobâ, one of them said. âThis was the moment I realized I was completely in love with you and needed you with me forever. And that was only our 5th dateâ, read the other.
As you reached the back of the shop there were only two more letters left. You laughed when you saw one of them with a picture of Barry pouting, written how sorry he was for everything that happened today. The last one said âMeet me up thereâ with an arrow pointing to the stairs.
You climbed them and they led you to the Jittersâ rooftop and the vision took your breath away. All over the railings there were twinkling lights iluminating the place alongside the moonlight, in the middle of it there was a table set with two cloches and a vase with beautiful red roses in it, plus a bottle of wine and two glasses. In the background you could hear soft, mellow music playing. And walking towards you, there was him. Gorgeous in a black suit and red tie, smiling bright at the sight of you.
âHiâ, he sheepishly said.Â
âHeyâ, you smiled. âThatâs quite the work you had hereâ.
âDid you like it?â he asked and you nodded. âYou deserve it and so much more. Iâm sorry I forgot our anniversary, Y/N. Everythingâs just been so crazy lately and my mind was caught up in all The Flash problems. I know that nothing justifies my mistake, but I really hope you can forgive meâ.
âYou know...Itâs hard to stay mad at this faceâ, you said holding up the picture of him pouting that you kept with you and he chuckled. âIâm kinda sorry too. I guess I overreactedâ.
âYou didnât. You have all the right to be upsetâ.
âWell, letâs get this party started and maybe we can forget about all that, shall we?â.
âYes, maâam!â, he smiled brightly as he offered you his arm, not before kissing your lips softly. He guided you to the table and pulled the chair out for you. You sat down and inquired him about dinner.
âI wanted us to have something really special, something that defined us as a coupleâ, he explained and started lifting the lid to reveal a burger from Big Belly. You laughed out loud and the smile on his face told you that that was exactly the reaction he was expecting.
âVery smart, Allenâ, you stated. âJust like the one we had after the meta attack when- â
âWhen we first metâ, he completed your sentence and you smiled.Â
You both started eating your fancy meals while sharing stories and connecting, completely leaving behind any hard feelings that might had happened earlier. After that, Barry got up and offered you a hand asking you to dance, to which you gladly accepted.
You stayed close, your arms wrapped around his neck while his hands gently embraced your waist. You swayed together under the moonlight, eyes locked on the other the entire moment.Â
âI love you, Y/Nâ.
âI love you, too. Happy one year!â, you said happily as he closed the distance between you with a sweet and passionate kiss.

The next morning Barry was the first one to arrive at the lab. He spent the night sleepless, regretting had letting you go away by yourself in the way that you were.Â
His worry only increased as he watched his friends arriving one by one and still no sign of you. A couple of hours had passed and at this point he was already walking around in circles.Â
"What if something happened to her?", he asked afflicted.
"Maybe she just overslept. Caitlin said she was exhausted, right?" Cisco pondered and Caitlin agreed with a nod of her head.
âOr maybe she passed out on the street on her way home last night, or in her homeâ, Barry said desperately. âAnd I donât know anything about her location to go looking for her. If something bad happened itâs all my faultâ.
"Or maybe she just doesn't want to be here", Iris said. "Maybe what we could offer her was not what she wanted and she just bailed", she said with a raise of her eyebrows and a pitiful look in her eyes.
"Iris, please", Barry sighed. "I know she wouldn't do that to me, something's not right. She should be here by now".
"I am", your voice followed by your stomping boots pierced through the room, making all eyes land on you. You could see Barry letting out a relieved breath at the same time he looked you up and down. You had cleaned yourself up and actually had a good night's sleep, so now you were looking like the Y/N he always knew again. He couldn't help but walk to you and squeeze you into a hug. It surprised you, but you hugged him back just as strongly, even giving his back a little pat.
"What took you so long? I was worried", he said so low that only you could listen.
"I'm sorry, Barry. I started feeling a little dizzy so I thought it was better to wait before I left my house. Took the time to have a big breakfast and here I am", you answered with a shrug.
"But are you okay now?" he asked holding you at an arm's length.
"Yeah, I'm fine I guess", you smiled softly and he replied it. You stayed like that for a while until Cisco purposely scoffed, breaking your focus on each other.
âIâm guessing we have some stuff to do?â, you shot a look at Cisco with a smirk.
"Yes, we do, Ms. Fireballâ, he replied jokingly. âBut before all that Iâm gonna need to get your cellphone number and your address so next time youâre late, our friend here donât completely lose his mindâ, he pointed at Barry and you laughed.
âAlright, Iâll make sure to text Barry the information laterâ, you looked at him and winked, him looking a little flushed.
âWait, you have Barryâs number?â, Iris asked intrigued.
âYep. And addressâ.
ââŚAndâŚwhy doesnât he have yours?â.
âI like to keep my business personalâ, you said nonchalantly. âBut Iâm nosy so I like to know other peopleâs businessâ, you gave her a tight-lipped smiled.
âOkay thenâŚâ.
âSo, Ciscoâ, Barry turned to him. âWhat do we have for Y/N?â.
âLetâs take it to training stationâ, he turned around and motioned with his finger for you to follow him.
You, Barry, Iris and Caitlin went after him. Getting there, he got a little black box, placed it over a desk and walked over to you.
âSo, weâre here so we can do the test safely. Y/N, do you see that target over there?â, he pointed and you looked out, nodding. âI want you to use your powers to hit itâ.
âIsnât the whole point of this for me not to use my powers, though?â, you questioned.
âWe need to test it first, trust meâ.
You looked up at Barry, a little worried. He nodded with a soft smile, reassuring you.
âAlright then. Here goes nothingâ.
You planted your feet firmly on the ground, stretched your hands forward, took a deep breath and shot it, hitting the target perfectly. It fell to the ground on flames, Cisco ran to it and calmly put it out with a fire extinguisher.
âYep, still working fine so farâ, he said.
âHow exactly does this- â, Barry started asking but was shortly interrupted by you leaning backwards, he was able to quickly take you in his arms before you fell completely. He wrapped his arms around you as your head laid back on his chest.
âY/N? What happened? Are you okay?â, he said worriedly but you couldnât find the strength to respond.
âI think itâs getting worseâ, Caitlin said, rushing to examine you. âSeems that just that bit of use of her powers took her energy completelyâ.
âThen why would you ask her to do that, Cisco?â, Barry yelled at the boy.
âI didnât know that this would happen, I just needed to test her!â, he yelled back.
âHeyâŚâ, you weakly said, trying to lift your head. âIâm fine, Iâm just lightheadedâ.
âY/N, donât push yourself too hardâ, Barry held you tighter in his embrace.
âItâs okay, really. Just donât let me fallâ, you chuckled. âCisco, go on. What did you want to test with that?â.
âAre you sure youâre okay?â.
âJust hit meâ.
âWellâŚâ, he took the black box from the desk and opened it up. Inside, there were two thin, silver metal bracelets.  âI designed these last night based on the ones Caitlin uses to restrain Killer Frostâ. He said getting them out of the box.
âWill they inhibit her powers completely?â, Barry asked.
âTheyâre supposed to, yes. May I?â, he asked before putting them on you. You nodded and he proceeded to lock them on both of your wrists. âI made some adjustments to attend to Y/Nâs issues, so, theyâre not only supposed to inhibit her powers when she tries to use them, but theyâll also release a little supply of energy so...thatâŚdoesnât happen againâ.
âReally?â, you asked in awe. âWow, color me impressedâ.
âThatâs amazing, Ciscoâ, Iris commented.
âYeah, yeah. We just need to see if it actually worksâ.
"What do I need to do?", you inquired.Â
"You kinda need to shoot it again", he said a little hesitant.Â
"Cisco, that's not a good idea right now", Barry stated.Â
"Barry, it's fine", you said putting a hand on his arm. "We need to see how it works".
He looked at you with pleading eyes, almost begging you to not do it, but he ended up caving in. With a sigh, he nodded in agreement with you and released your body from his embrace. You stepped forward in the same way as before and shot it, but this time, nothing happened. You tried once again and still nothing. You smiled happily.
"It worked", you said looking at Barry.
"How do you feel?", he said walking around you with his hands out, ready to break any falls.Â
"I feel great. Normal", you looked at Cisco. "I can feel the energy it's providing running through me. It kinda tickles", you giggled.
"Success, team Flash!", Cisco exclaimed excitedly and high-fived you. Everybody smiled proudly.
"So, apparently I won't die anymore, that's pretty cool!", you said. "But like, do I have to wear these forever?", you asked putting your hands up.
"Well, that was step one so that, like you said, you wouldn't die", Cisco answered. "Now we work from there".Â
âWe will have to train you so you can learn how to control your powers again and use them just whenâŚnecessaryâ, Caitlin explained. âThen you wonât need the bracelets anymore. Itâs what theyâre doing to me, tooâ.
âOkayâŚAnd are yaâll cool with me sticking around a little longer?â, you crossed your arms.
âOf course we are, Y/N!â, Barry replied. âWe want to help youâ, he rubbed your shoulder gently.
âIris?â, you asked, shooting a look at her.
âI suppose the faster you get better the faster youâll get out of here, so yeahâ, she said with a smirk.
âGreatâ, you said, suppressing a smile. âSo whatâs the plan?â.
âMental training, target hitting, willingness and a lot of protein barsâ, Cisco said and you looked confused, furrowing your eyebrows. âDonât worry, itâs actually going to be pretty simple, I thinkâ.
âIf you say soâŚâ, you mumbled. âAnd what if I try to take these off?â.
âYou canâtâ, Cisco said matter of factly. âIâm the only one who has a key. Youâre officially forbidden to use your powersâ, he smiled at you teasingly.
âHow greatâŚâ.
A while later you went back up to the cortex and everybody kinda scattered around the room. Barry pulled you aside and you both stayed together talking.
âSo, are you excited?â, Barry happily asked you.
âI am, actuallyâ, you replied. âSeems like weâre getting somewhereâ.
âI told you we wouldâ.
âYou didâ, you smiled. âThank you for believing in meâ.
âYouâre worth believing in, Y/Nâ, he said and you blushed. âWhat will you do when youâre finally in control again, though?â.
âIâm not thinking that far yet. Do you have any plans?â, you inquired.
âI do, actually. You could work with The Flashâ, you snorted and he looked at you with a straight face.
âOh shit, youâre seriousâ, you stopped laughing. âBarry, câmon! Do you really think I could go around saving people and being the hero? Do you really think thatâs me?â.
âWell, it could be!â, he said. Â âYour powers are amazing, you could use them for something usefulâ.
âBarry, look⌠I intend to not have to use my powers again, okay?â, you confessed. âI just want to have control of myself again and once I do, Iâm leaving to start over this crappy lifeâ.
âWait, what do you mean youâre leaving?â.
âItâs just, all the bad things in my life happened here. I donât want to be here anymoreâ.
âBut what aboutâŚâ, you got the hint of sadness in his voice and could imagine how he wanted to finish this sentence.
âYou?â, you dared to say. âYouâre the only good thing about this place, Barry Allen. About meâ.
He smiled weakly and looked down, so you decided to lighten up the mood with a dose of sass.
âWhy are you upset? Would you miss me?â, you said with a husky voice as you stepped closer to him, catching him a little by surprise. âIs that why you want me to stay?â.
âI⌠I meanâŚâ, he swallowed harshly as he lost himself in his words.
âI would miss you too, you know. In fact, I do miss youâ, you smirked. âItâs been so long since weâve had some privacyâ, you said in a whisper and made him blush.
âWe could change thatâ, he said trying to push his shyness away.
âWe could, Flashâ, you smiled. âWhy donât you stop by my place tonight? Iâll even try to cook somethingâ.
âY/N Y/L/N, are you asking me on a date?â, he looked at you smirking.
âCall it what you wantâ, you tried to play it cool. âAre you coming or what?â.
âI willâ, he said. âI just donât know where your place isâ.
âWell, I reckon I said I was going to text it to you, didnât I?â, you winked and walked away from him, his gaze following your every move.

Masterlist
Everything was blank. All that could be heard was the beeping of the cardiac monitor in the distance, almost fading away. Savitar wanted to move but he couldnât, he felt trapped by something stronger than him, like a force pulling him down and keeping him in place.
âAm I dead? Is this the afterlife?â, he was thinking to himself. âWhy canât I talk? Why canât I get up?â were all words running through his head and he could do nothing about them. It was agonizing.
All of a sudden he felt a very heavy gust of air filling his lungs. He was able to inhale deeply and while doing so his eyes shot open, making him abruptly sit up on the stretcher while panting. The beeping was louder and clearer now, piercing through his ears. He started to slowly stretch his fingers, making sure that he had control of his movements. He became aware of the tubes on his arm and up his nose, also the electrodes that covered his bare chest.
He started looking around and making sense of where he was and what was happening at the moment. The room was empty, but he was sure he was at STAR Labs, more specifically in the room where you had shared your last moments together.
Not even sure if his voice would come out, he took a chance and started calling for someone.
âHello?â, but there was no answer. âHello? Iâm here!â, he called as loud as he could, but still nothing. He began feeling desperate.
Breathing heavily he shifted in bed and tried to get up but, before he could, something caught his attention. He heard footsteps, heavy ones that sounded like the person was running. Suddenly the door burst open and his green eyes met yours. You stood there with your hand on the knob for a minute looking at him, eyes wide and mouth hanging open. Slowly, it shifted into a smile.
âSavitar?â, you asked quietly.
âY/N!â, he answered excitedly, a huge grin spread on his face.
âOh my God!â, with tears glimmering your eyes, you rapidly entered the room and made your way to him, stopping beside the stretcher. âIs it really you? Youâre alive!â, you craddled his face between your hands as teardrops ran down your cheeks.
âI guess I am!â, he chuckled, wrapping his hands around your wrists. âDid- did your plan work? What happened?â.
âWell, I wasnât sure before but now...I think it did!â, you said happily, still a little surprised. âIâll go get the team and then weâll talk about it, okay?â.
He nodded, but before you could leave he pulled you back by the hand and pecked your lips. You smiled and made your way to the door, running to the cortex to send emergency signals to your friendsâ cellphones. Ever since the incident with Savitar you stayed day and night at the lab, even after everybody left.
Barry and Iris were obviously the first ones to get there, followed by Cisco and Caitlin. As soon as they entered the room the surprise was evident on their faces, so much that Savitar quirked an eyebrow at them.
While starting the conversation and filling him in, you carefully removed his IVs and Caitlin proceeded to do a quick examination, measuring his blood pressure and cardiac frequency. You tossed him a STAR Labs t-shirt so he could cover up and sat beside him on the bed.
"I've really been in a coma for 3 weeks?", he asked, still a little confused.
"Yeah", you responded. "I guess I didn't calculate the regeneration process correctly. It took a liiiittle longer than I expected".
"So, it was really Barry's cells that saved me? They really made my organism like his?".
"Well, see it for yourself", Cisco smirked while handing him his cellphone with the front camera opened.
Savitar took it a little confused and when he focused it on his face, he was shocked. His face was just like Barry's, smooth as a baby, no more scars or marks. He touched the part of his cheek where the scars used to be and looked at you with big eyes.
"Wow..."
"Yeah", you chuckled. "I guess that's our confirmation that it worked just fine".
"Thanks to you", he smiled, taking your hand in his. "I'm proud of you".
"We all are, Y/N!â Iris said with a grin and they all agreed.
"Thanks, guys!â you replied blushing a little.
"So... what happens now?â Barry asked.
"I don't know. We take Savitar as your long lost twin and move on with our lives?", Cisco suggested with a joking tone.
âRightâ, Barry laughed.
"I kinda of agree with that, actually", you said. "We keep going. If anyone asks, we say he's the brother Barry only recently found out he has".
"You wanna put a âParent Trapâ on us?", he asked and you shrugged. "...Okay", he said a little hesitant. "If you think this will work, then we're bros now", Barry patted Savitar's back with a smile.
"Yeah, don't push it", Savitar said dryly.
"Right, sorry", he said quickly pulling his hand back and you chuckled.
Savitar looked up at you and smiled, maintaining his stare on you.
"Ahem", Iris cleared her throat. "We should probably...", she said pointing at the door, glancing at everybody.
"Oh yeah!", Barry agreed. "We'll be in the cortex if you need us", he winked at you and you rolled your eyes, a smile spread on your face for knowing exactly what they were doing.
After they closed the door behind them, Savitar looked at you and smirked.
"So...".
"So...â, you repeated, giggling lightly.
"What now?â he questioned while caressing your hand.
"Well, you pretty much got a second chance at life so, you can do whatever you want!â you said excitedly. "But we should probably wait a while to make sure that everything is really okay".
"Yeah...â he sighed. âHow do you start over your life completely, though? I didn't even have goals before, how do you just make them from scratch?".
"I think first you should stop and think about what you want your life to be like now", you started, positioning yourself better on the bed to look at him. "It's like those silly questions, like 'where do you see yourself five years from now?â. Envision that and go after what you see".
"You are such a smart ass, Y/N Y/L/N", he said chuckling.
"It's true!â you laughed. "Try it! What do you see? Anything you really want?â.
"Well, I can see only one thing I really want", he said seriously looking at you and you smirked.Â
"And what would that be?â, you dared to ask.
He brought his hand to hold your waist and pull you closer to him, finally ending the distance between your lips. As soon as they touched you both let out a relieved sigh. You wrapped your arms around his neck while one of his hands held the side of your face. Your tongues intertwined and they danced around in a passionate kiss. You got lost in each other for a few minutes before stopping for some air.
"That's a good start", you whispered, licking your lips.Â
"I know, right? I think it's a great goal", he said smugly and you laughed, playfully smacking his shoulder.Â
"It's definitely something", you both smiled.
You laid your head on his chest and wrapped your arm around his torso, him doing the same on your shoulder. You stayed like that in silence for a moment, his rubbing circles on your arm soothing you.Â
"I was thinking", he broke the silence and you lifted up your face to look at him. "Do you think they would let me stay here in the lab until I figure something out?".
"Well, I was actually thinking you could stay with me".
"Really?â he asked surprised.
"Yeah", you smiled softly.
"Wow. I mean, I would love that, but..."
"What?".
"Isn't that too fast? I don't want to pressure you about, you know, us".
"Savitar", you laughed. "We're not getting married, calm down".
"I know, I know", he chuckled. "It's just...I started wrong with you, terribly wrong, you have a really bad first impression of me, and if we're making this work, I want it to be the right way. I don't want to make you feel forced to anything like I did before".Â
"Hey", you took both of his hands in yours. "I'm not feeling pressured at all, okay? I want to make this work on my own account", you smiled. "Now, it's just that you need a place to stay where you'll have company in case of an emergency and I have a room to spare at my place, so".
"Are you sure?â, he asked grinning.
"I'm sure. And, you know, if you ever get tired of my face then we can arrange something for you in here", you joked bouncing your eyebrows.
"I doubt that's going to be a problem", he scrunched up his nose, leaning in to quickly kiss your lips again. "Thank you. For everything".
"You are very welcome", you grinned and returned his kiss.
You talked a little bit more about these arrangements and then left to meet everybody in the cortex. Caitlin took Savitar because she wanted to run a few more detailed tests to check his health. Everything seemed to be going fine so she released him to go with you.Â
âYou will be needing fresh clothes and well, since weâre the same person, I thought some of mine would fit you just fineâ, Barry said handing him a backpack with some items.
âThank you, broâ, Savitar replied as he took the bag, stretching his hand to him. Barry smiled and shook his hand, nodding his head. âThanks to all of you, actually. It was unbelievable what you guys did for me. Iâll be sticking around so I canât wait to make up to you for my mistakes. Again, I'm really sorry for everythingâ.
They all smiled and welcomed him to the group with handshakes and pats on the back, which made him very happy and slightly embarrassed for all the sudden attention. Apart from you he never really received any from anybody, so this was definitely a new feeling for him. He could warm up to it, though.
After a while you said your goodbyes and decided to head to your place. He offered to rush you both there but you suggested a calm walk to take in some fresh air and sunlight. You walked holding hands, appreciating every little step together.Â
You finally got to your house and as soon as you unlocked the door you both made your way inside.Â
"Wow", he said looking around, his expression a little more confused than impressed.
"What is it?".
"Well, let's just say your taste will change a little bit in the future".
You arched your eyebrows and opened your mouth to say something, but gave up.Â
"You know what? I don't even wanna know. Let's let it happen". He let out a chuckle and nodded in agreement.Â
You took him upstairs to the guest room where he would be staying and showed him around, helping him unpack and find a space to put the things Barry had given him. He decided to take a shower afterwards and you took this time to make some dinner for you two.
Everything was already set on the table when he came down the stairs to meet you in the kitchen, looking fresh and clean.Â
"Did you find everything alright?", you greeted with a small smile.Â
"Yeah, thanks, I needed that. I feel brand new".
"You definitely look like it", you commented and he smirked. "If you want to sit down, I'm already bringing the food. I made some pasta, I promise is not mac'n'cheese from a box", he laughed.
"Oh, thank God", he joked. "It's a good thing I'm here now because I can police all the crap you eat".
"No, you can't because I'm gonna hide all my crap", you said with a stern look on your face. "Now sit down to eat".
"Yes, ma'am".
You both had a nice dinner together and talked a lot during it. Savitar offered to do the dishes afterwards and then you sat in the living room to watch some TV, you laying down on his lap while he ran his fingers through your hair. When it got late you went to your bedrooms, stopping in the hallway to have a goodnight's kiss.Â
In the middle of the night, when you were sleeping lightly, you suddenly heard a knock on your door. You groggy responded and the door opened, Savitarâs eyes peeking through the crack.
"Hey", he said quietly.
"Is everything okay?".
"Yeah...I just can't sleep".
"Do you want to stay here?", you asked sitting up on the bed.
"Can I?", he asked a little timid. You responded by lifting the covers and patting the side of the bed. He smiled at you and made his way inside, slowly laying down next to you. You covered the both of you and laid down facing him, wrapping an arm around his waist. He did the same and kissed your forehead. Your fingers traced soothing circles on his back and he quickly started falling asleep. You smiled looking at his sleepy face and followed in his slumber right after.Â
You were all excited that things worked out and in the end nobody got hurt. You were able to save your friends and find love, an unexpected but true love. Both you and Savitar were waiting to see where life would take you, but, right now, you just needed to rest, relieved. Everything else could be planned in the morning. Â
