BIOGRAPHY !
There was absolutely nothing unusual about the Isaacs from the outside: high school sweethearts William and Marilyn married only a year after graduating from college. The two of them settled down in their hometown Prosper, Texasβa small town just north of Dallas. William immediately began his career in law and Marilyn worked as a schoolteacher. Five years after they married, Marilyn gave birth to a lovely little baby girl, Harleyβand a year later, she gave birth to Henry. Due to the proximity of their ages, Henry and Harley got along so well that many people would have believed they were twins if they didn't know better. Growing up, the siblings were different, but their differences were what made them a pair. Neither was seen without the other and when one got into trouble, the other was always right there beside them. They were two sides of the same coin. Harley was Henry's best friend, and the only person he could count on.
William always wanted a career in politicsβhowever, his career never took off past local government, where he served several terms as a city councilman and eventually mayor. Henry and his sister were always to blame for their father's failed career, and at night when he was half a bottle of whisky in, he made sure they knew it. Harley's dresses were always a little askew or Henry didn't answer a press question exactly the way his father wanted; it was never his own fault. After ever failed election, the two of them were to blameβand their mother just stood off to the side, continuing to tell her children: your father's career is important to him, to us. Neither child understood what they did wrong, but at least they had each other.
At home, Henry's father disciplined them with a heavy hand, often going a little too far after a few drinksβand because of this, Henry did his best not to anger his father as much as possible. Henry didn't want to anger the man any more than he had to with frivolous little kid problems. There were many nights when Henry couldn't sleep because he could hear his dad downstairs, drunk and causing a scene, he'd sneak into his sister's room and curl up beside her and hoped that one day all of it would go away. Though the second they were in the public eye, nothing was wrongβtheir dad knew where to hide the bruises, but more importantly, he acted as if everything was perfect, and made sure they did too. As much as his childhood sucked, he had his sister there to keep him safe. And no one ever suspected what was happening behind closed doorsβand who would suspect the mayor.
In high school, Henry and Harley branched out slightly. Harley found comfort around other artists. Whereas Henry took to sports, despite his own love of books. Soccer wasn't on the top of their father's list of sports that he wanted his son to play, so in a small act of defiance, that's what Henry choose. He excelled at it, too, with all his unresolved anger towards his father fuelling him on the field. And while soccer might not have been what his father would have chosen for him, he told Henry that if he was going to play soccer, he had to be the best at it. So he worked harder and got better, and by his junior year he was practically guaranteed the captaincy for his senior year.
But it was his junior year that everything started falling apart. Coming from a family that had been raised Southern Baptist, there were some things that just weren't allowed. For the most part, Henry did his best to avoid his dad's anger. When his dad came in raging one night, Henry had no reason to assume that anything was wrong other than his dad's usual anger. That night, however, was different. Usually, Henry and his sister didn't fight back, hoping that would make it end sooner, but that night there was a voice arguing backβhis sister's voice. Henry rushed downstairs to try and calm the situation down, but realized almost instantly that it would do no good. Henry watched as the argument got heated and stood there unable to move. He knew what the argument was about, even if he stood there with a dumbfounded look on his face. Their dad gave Halrley an ultimatum:Β break up or get the fuck out of my house.Β She stood up and walked towards the door, pausing only for a second to turn back to Henry and ask him:Β Well, are you coming?Β And Henry shook his headΒ noΒ in response.
Months went by where Henry regretted the decision he had made that night. He should have gone with Hal instead of being a coward and choosing their father. He wanted the comfort of a warm bed and to know where his next meal was coming from. He hadnβt meant to choose his dad over his sister. In one night, Henry lost the one person he had always counted on, and it was his own decision, his own fault. He tried to reach out to her, but she refused to answer his callsβeventually his calls were answered by someone other than his sister, and he gave up trying. She probably hated him, and she had a good reason to. But as much as he hated his father, he couldnβt help to think that Harley was also wrong. Why couldnβt she have conformed to their dadβs ideals for just a little longer? She was closer to leaving than he was, and he had no intention of his father finding out any of his own secrets.
With his sister gone, life didnβt get any better at home. Whereas before the two had to share the wrath from their father, suddenly it was all directed at Henry as if it was his fault she was gone. His father was more brutal than ever, angry at his daughter for everything she was, and taking it out on Henry as if he was the reason why. To cope with the pressure of having to deal with his dad for another year and a half, he turned to drinking. No one noticed the changes at first. People always asked about Harrley, until they got tired of Henryβs snappy remarks. He finished his junior year broken and angry. His senior year wasnβt much better. His drinking was at an all-time high, and it showed on the field: eventually Henryβs playing got bad enough that his coach benched him for the rest of the season and all of the places he wanted to go to college didn't want him anymore with the exception of Aurora Bay College.
Although Henry had been in contact with several colleges that offered scholarships for soccer, by the end of his high school education, his grades weren't the best and he basically hadn't played more than two games since junior year. No team wanted him and no college wanted him. He almost convinced himself that he was fine with staying put in Prosper, but then he finally got an acceptance from Aurora Bay College. With nothing to his name and a father telling him, he'd never pay for college in California, Henry finally left home. College was a better experience for himβalthough still quiet and reserved, he managed to make friends and eventually joined the soccer team. Henry got a degree in creative writing and English, then decided to stick around to get a graduate degree in library science. He decided to stay in Aurora Bay after getting a graduate degree. He got a job at the libraryβhis dream jobβstraight out of grad school. Since graduating in 2022, he's written a book that's set to be published in June 2025βunder a pseudonym.
HEADCANONS !
The subject of his book is about a man in his mid twenties who falls in love with his roommateβit is not autobiographical.
His second book, that he started writing at the beginning of 2026, is about the two main characters from his first book, two and a half years later. It takes place after NYE where the main character freaks out over not getting proposed to that evening and second guesses their relationship.

Did Linnea want more than just Nico? Maybe one day but her love life was such a fucking disaster she didnβt think it was going to be anytime soon which was more than fine. She just wanted to stay a good and focused parent on Nico; she really didnβt want him to end up like his dad β wait thatβs actually really cute though βLinnea noted with a small smile. Love rarely made her smile. β were you best friends before and then the feelings hit?β
β ah i see. So youβve probably seen this little guy already pulling books off shelves. I donβt know why he does it. I think heβs just way too curiousβ @henrysisaacs
Henry wanted kids, he wasn't sure how many. Two, maybe three. He wanted them to have a sibling or two that way they were never alone. That was important to him having grown up with a sibling. Right now there were other things on his mind, like getting the house in order. "I think so too." His own parents were high school sweethearts, but that hadn't gone well for them. "I'm not actually sure. I've never developed feelings for anyone before, so he's the first person I've ever felt romantic feelings for. We were friends for a long time before I realized I had feelings."
He laughed. "Maybe. I tend to be in the back a lot, though sometimes I stop by the front desk." While he did help people find books, he also spent a lot of time in the back working on other projects. "A lot of kids do that."
"So you're plantonic roommates who are also basically married but also not and you're buying a house together?"
Whether his suspicions about the pair of them being more than roommates were correct or not, the idea of being locked into a house purchase with someone in such a manner made Ziggy's throat feel scratchy when he swallowed.
( Scary. )
"That's not like totally intense at all."
The limited selection of cards for occasions most definitely wouldn't have any that fit that very specific scenario so he continues to stroll down the aisle to take in the rest of the display.
"Have you two kooky kids found an abode to purchase yet?"
"Something like that," Henry hummed. He didn't really know how to explain his relationship with Josie since they were dating, but Henry felt like it was more than just dating at this point. Probably because they were such good friends before they'd admitted their feelings. "He's the love of my life."
Henry shrugged. "I'm kind of an intense person." He's never been one to do something half assed either.
"We just closed on a house in Seabrook a bit ago."
Closed starter: Josie & @henrysisaacs
Location: Stepping on the beach do do do doo
For anyone looking in, it might seem like Josie and Henry have only been dating for six months. So why would marriage be on the table? Quite frankly, it's not as though Josie cares to follow anyone's rulebook anyway, but despite not being official he feels as though he's actually been with Henry for much longer than half a year. Josie could dwell on the time it's taken them to take their relationship to the next step and maybe even feel like he missed out on connecting sooner, but he doesn't regret any of the time they spent as friends. They were in different stages of their lives when they first met and he's okay with that. Still, it doesn't mean he wants to hold back on reaching new milestones.
Taking Henry's hand into his own, he strolls down the beach. With so many people focused on the carnival, it feels almost like it's just them on the sand. He knows that's not true, of course, because just out of sight he's brought Linnea in to help execute his little proposal. Although her main job is to just keep his message in the sand free from any homophobic seagulls that might come its way. He's toyed with a few different ideas in his head. Leaving a message at the end of a book. Randomly popping the question as soon as Henry enters a room. Painting it into a picture. But the beach seemed right, especially as June comes to an end. Henry hasn't exactly been subtle about wanting it either.
It's not often that Josie feels nervous and he's not sure that's how he feels right now. More excited. He's also trying not to give too much away so when he sees his message nearby, he tries his best to sound casual. "Oh, Henry..." he exclaims, pointing in the direction of a 'will you marry me?' written into the sand, "what's that? Over there?"
Henry thought that it would take some time to adjust to being in a relationship with Josie, but honestly, not much changed about their day to day lives. It was almost as if they'd been dating for a lot longer than the few months they'd been dating. Hell, what Josie considered their first official date Henry had said I love you. They said it casually before they even dated as well. They weren't just making dumb decisions because they were young. To Henry, their relationship was where he wanted it to be for a proposal, for the next step. He knew they probably should have done this before moving, but the opportunity to move had presented itself first. The timeline he had in his mind was a little wonky anyways.
He squeezes Josie's hand, leaning into to his partner's shoulder. He's not sure why Josie insisted on going to the beach for a walk. It was kind of random. He did bring Wednesday along with him too so she could enjoy the weather before it became scorching. He's happy to spend any time with Josie, it doesn't matter if they're hanging out on the beach, at the bar, or at home on the couch. Even if they're doing their own thing in the same room. Josie is the love of his life and really, he doesn't care what anyone thinks about it.
Henry lets Josie set the pace as they stroll down the beach. His eyes follow where Josie points, reading the message on the sand quickly. "Wait, do you think someone's about to propose? We should probably walk around so we don't ruin it."

"Apparently I've been in a relationship for like the last five years I just didn't know it. I, uh, am happily in love with my partner and have been probably since the second I met him."
"I like a nice overcast day so I'm not so hot when I'm reading at the beach. I also really like a rainy Saturday so I can just... sit on the couch and read."

"I mean, I'm cool with flowers. I'm not a hater or anything." He held his hands up defensively. "I just worry that the flowers will realize that we are worshiping them and take over or something." Forest took a sip of his drink, waiting to see if he had the same concerns that he did.
"I don't think that's going to happen. They're flowers. I doubt they have complicated emotions like we have." He looked around at all the flowers. "I don't think this is worshipping them. It's like appreciating them." Personally, he'd rather be at home. "I'm waiting for my allergies to kick in honestly."
"Still props for going that far." Grad school wasn't easy, at least he knew from those around him who had gone that route. "Is it worth continuing any further degree wise, or is like a Master's typically like the end goal when it comes to most librarians?" He didn't even know if anything else existed in that space, or if it was more looking to anything adjacent that could be relevant.
"It's hard to let them go, but books are honestly one of the harder things to move. Why do they tend to pile up and then be so heavy?" He'd moved in a bunch of his family's both when his sister was living now with him, or as some kind of storage over the years. "I bet if you have to, you could leave the bed even by the curb. Someone will pick it up."
"School was easy for me. Probably because I liked focusing on it." Henry had thought that after grad school he'd move somewhere else, but neither he nor Josie made any effort to move. Henry didn't know when everything had changed between them. "I could, but I think moving and my relationship is a little more important for me to focus on right now." He did think about getting a PhD but not right now.
"I won't get rid of any of them. I have a lot of first editions of books in my collection. I have a library." Thankfully he was used to lugging boxes of books around. "I think books being heavy makes sense to me, though I probably know how heavy they can get more than most people." Although he knew that he wasn't the only person who had a lot of books. "I'm sure. Josie's bed is more comfortable."
"I was kind of hoping we'd be the last couple standing," Josie teases, feeling a bit exhausted himself, "but we can do whatever you like, my love." In years past, Josie has invited Henry to partake in pride with him, but it was always as an ally. Or, well, that's what Josie let Henry's narrative be at the time. "Oh, definitely. I'm sure they're at max capacity right now." Josie pulls away ever so slightly, eyes locked on Henry's as he reaches for his face , gently caressing his jaw, "I love you, too." @henrysisaacs
"Now, I know I drag around boxes of books most days, but I'm not the one surfing most days. I do not have that stamina." His job was far less physical. He worked out sometimes and walked Wednesday every day, but that was not the same. Henry didn't know if he should celebrate pride because he'd always felt like it wasn't his to celebrate even if he knew he was gay for all these years. He wished he'd come out sooner. He hated that he'd waited so long. "Too many people. I want to be here, but I love being alone with you more." He leans in and kisses Josie.
8. Does anyone rely on your muse, whether it be emotionally, financially, or in some other way?
"I think the most consistent person I've relied on has been Josie. I mean we lived together, so obviously we relied on each other financially. Obviously, now that hasn't changed since we still live together, but I think maybe I've always relied on him emotionally. It's more now. I rely on him emotionally and financially."

β he knows β Linnea replied with a small smirk as she glanced back to see her son beaming with happiness and she couldnβt help but smile at him. Kids were always the plan but never this young, not when she still had her career going so well. And then she had to quit everything but she never regretted nico. β I know, especially considering I do have a couple, he just must think I need more. I do spend an awful lot of time with my aunt. β
β Linnea. This is Nico. Itβs nice to meet you despite the random way it happened β @henrysisaacs
Henry wanted children. At least two, it was important that they had a sibling so they could talk about all the terrible ways their father was messing up. He hadn't exactly talked to Josie about it though it was probably obvious. "Well, I also don't have that many friends that I hang out with a ton. I'm dating my best friend. So it's mostly just us, hanging out at home together." He loved that though.
"No, it's totally cool. I'm used to children. I work at the library," he replied.
"Good. Sometimes having roommates is hard, so I'm glad to know yours is a very different story. Last time I had roommates it was a world of drama." Partially because it was during the filming of her reality show that thrived on drama, but it was still insanely stressful. "Its rare to find a friend like that, too. One that's been around for so long, ya know."
"I love my roommate. We've always worked well together." The way he spoke about Josie was entirely romantic. "I've heard roommates can be problematic sometimes. Depends on the situation. I'm a pretty easy person to live with, I think." Even if his father didn't believe that. "Sometimes I think it's more than friendship."
