I stopped watching HOTD during season 2 and I've only seen parts of season 3 through gifs, and god am i glad I stopped watching this show. And the most frustrating part is it could have been so good, but Condal and Hess have changed so much you can barely even say it's "inspired by" Fire and Blood at this point.

I'm not watching this show anymore but I've seen a lot of gifs and Ryan Condal saying the small folk are going to grieve Meleys and riot against TG because they've killed a dragon.
Are you absolutely fucking kidding? Are we all supposed to forget that Meleys and Rhaenys killed and injured hundreds of small folk at Aegons coronation, which was only what, two or three weeks ago?
And it's the small folk rioting in F&B that practically made dragons extinct. They killed 3 young dragons and 2 full grown dragons, but they view them as deities? Give me a break.
Is the storming of the dragon pit not going to happen then? Are they all going to have accidental deaths?
Okay, I'm done with this show. It fills me with to much rage to keep going. I'm just annoyed I was eagerly awaiting this bullshit.

The greens going from “all we have is each other and we’re going to stick together as a family no matter how toxic we are” to “Alicent hates her children and her sons will probably kill or betray each other”
I find it as per usual that TB are defending Rhaenyra in regards to her scenes with Rhaena, with some even insulting Rhaena for not being happy to be a glorified children's nurse and go back to where her mother died.
Did we not all hear the lines "It breaks my heart to send my boys away, not knowing when I will see them again" ?? My boys, but no mention of missing Rhaena. No tiny bit of sympathy for what she's asking of her when Rhaenyra herself lost her mother and hated the conforms of being a woman.
And that's not even mentioning that Rhaenyra had no issue sending Baela out on guard, but wouldn't send her own son to do the same job. But sure, she treats her children and step children equally, and Rhaena was the unreasonable one.

There was no love, and it disgusts me that the writers are trying to pretend there was.
He mariatly rapes her, forces 3/4 children on her that he completely disregards, mocks her publicly with his brother, calls their son "Otto's blood", calls her his dead wife's name, threatens to have her tongue removed and has her caring for him as he slowly withers for at least half their 20 year marriage.
I cannot think of one single scene or line that shows any care or love from Viserys to Alicent, but many that show the opposite.
Trying to churn out fics for HOTD when the writing continues to hit rock bottom, is slowly driving me insane. S2’s writing has been absolute garbage to the point I’m feeling extremely uncharitable towards Alicent, which is probably a good indication to stop writing for the day.
For one, why is TG written to act like the war is Aegon’s fault, when aside from Helaena, he’s so far been the least at fault??
Alicent and Otto were the ones that crowned Aegon against his will. Aegon was the one who had to be dragged to the pit kicking and screaming (literally) to claim a throne he never even wanted. Sure, there’s the argument that it’s his birthright en yada yada, but clearly the show forgot that little bit.
Aemond killed Lucerys. Criston was the one who sent Arryk after Rhaenyra, not Aegon. Otto was the one who ordered nobles killed for not supporting them.
So what exactly has Aegon actually done? And if the leaks are to be believed (and they’ve been accurate so far), what has he done to deserve his own brother maiming and trying to kill him? Because he was mean and cruel and petty in today’s episode???
So fucking what?????
Aegon isn’t nice. They’ve never gotten along, except for few moments where they stuck together for survival. This isn’t petty childhood squabbles, sibling bullying, or rivalries borne from being mom’s favorite vs the most unloved eldest son in westeros. Aegon’s son is dead, and Aemond is partially at fault.
It doesn’t matter that Aemond regrets killing Lucerys. It absolves no one. Luke’s still dead, so Jaehaerys is too.
Aegon is gonna be mean and hateful and angry and vengeful. Aemond did something incredibly stupid and now his infant nephew is dead. Today’s brothel scene will never justify what Aemond does next episode.
the fact that they put in this WORTHLESS brothel bullying scene + aemond getting SA'd at such a young age because of aegon plot (so that writers can justify his love for alys later down the line as if he can't just fall in love with her, no it HAS to be rooted in his traumatic experience w older women 😮💨) to set up the brotherly rivalry and the non-canon betrayal at RR .... instead of you know ... maybe aegon blaming aemond for the murder of his son and the torture of his wife and their sister ??? like how about THAT being the reason for the tension and animosity in their relationship with one another ??? how about THAT causing aemond such soul-crushing guilt ??? especially after he dragged an unwilling aegon to his coronation which then through his reckless actions leads to his big brother becoming irreversibly damaged and disabled by fighting a battle he never wanted to fight in the first place ??? how about THAT guilt leading aemond down a path of murder and mania and the inability to face his family anymore causing him to stupidly abandon them in KL then catalyzing to what's basically his suicide above the god's eye ????
but no of course b&c won't be the reason for the tension and you wanna know why? because these writers don't want you to care about blood and cheese. helaena sure as fuck doesn't! "children die all the time so it's ok mine died right? :^)))))" instead of her character developing into the suicidal broken woman she becomes who kills herself over this trauma that daemon and rhaenyra inflicted upon her, she's like whatever :^). and then the director and writers have the AUDACITY to say daemon realizes this episode that he made a mistake in ordering b&c and that he regrets it. IN BOOK CANON DAEMON HAD ALREADY BEEN PLANNING THE ASSASSINATION AND TORTURE OF HELAENA AND HER KIDS FOR WEEKS!!!!! WEEKS!!!!!!!!!!!!
but no, b&c and the consequences thereof cannot be felt or reckoned with by any of the greens' characters. because how else can ryan condal then wash daemon and rhaenyra's hands clean of this pivotal act of senseless violence in the story? bunch of worthless writers.

What is so goofy about this is that Gayle Rankin is 34, she is only 7 years older than Ewan, and they actually look close to the same age. And I think the showrunners were aware of that into filming so that's why they had Gayle say that Alys might actually be hundreds of years old. Because Aemond's mommy issues don't really line up here when he becomes infatuated with her.

Cannot believe anyone actually thinks the sept scene is good writing. It's fanfiction. It's character sabotage. It's season 8 GOT level illogical. With D+D at least they ran out of material to adapt. But HOTD writers had everything laid out for them and they still fumbled the ball so damn hard. If it wasn't so fucking tragic that they did this to the story it would be hilarious
When I saw that leak, i thought it honestly had to be a joke. It's so ridiculous it's not even funny. Women can only be peaceful, and can't be vengeful? Rhaenyra travelled hundreds of miles without being seen? Rhaenyra could have attacked Alicent, but Alicent attacking and using Rhaenyra as a hostage could have ended the war altogether. Killing her certainly would. But no, we're all still supposed to care about a friendship that's been dead eighteen years.
After these first two episodes, I'm not even sure whether to continue watching. The level of bias in what's supposed to be a civil war is wild.

And looking at what Ryan Condall has said about B&C being not only all Green propaganda made up by Alicent to make Rhaenyra look bad, and that we're also apparently supposed to root for two child murderers to not get caught, I have no good faith left for the next six episodes. I really don't.
Because the writing is not only outlandishly biased, but downright stupid.
Between near constant Alicole sex scenes, Daemon sending B&C being a big old whoops and B&C being able to walk around the Red Keep like they live there while not a single guard is posted outside the chambers of the Queen and and the King's children.
And don't even get me started on the fact the first episode is supposed to be 10 days after Luke's death, and yet Jace was able to go from Dragonstone to The Vale, then The North and gain support from both and get back to Dragonstone in time for the funeral. Yes, he's riding a dragon, but a small one that would need breaks to rest and eat. But according to HOTD Vermax flies like a Valkyie
