Making my Sakura from Fire Emblem Fates Cosplay!

This is just a video going over how I made this cosplay, starting with my initial planning sketches to the finished thing

Most cosplayers know that store bought wig heads are usually undersized. Like, really undersized. So after getting fairly frustrated while trying to style a ponytail wig or two on a too small foam head, I decided to add to mine so they match my head circumference. The end product assumes you have the ability to sew, but you can also finish with a tape-only version if you so wish.

MATERIALS

A super awesome pattern of the rose [ HERE ]

Sharpie

Clear Nail Polish

SHEER blak knee highs

Panty Hose

Exacto Knife (or scissors)

Tape

1.    Print Pattern on 8x11 paper. Overlap the dots and tap or staple in place.

2.    Use an exacto knife to carefully cut the pieces out.

3.    Tape that sucker to your leg.  *yeah your leg… not your panty hose or your knee highs…

4.   Using a sharpie draw the rose directly onto your leg (don’t fill in… since we just need the shape.  You are essentially making a pattern on your leg to trace onto the panty hose.

5.   Put the panty hose on.

6.   Use the sharpie to trace the outline of the rose on your leg.  When you have the shape fill it in.

7.   Don’t forget to draw in the thorns!

8.   Take the panty hoses off and put the knee highs on.  Time to tear them up!  Use a pair of scissors to cut holes then put nail polish remover on top to prevent it from running.

9.   Wait for it to dry.

10.   Take off knee highs and get that sharpie off your leg!  Pro tip:  Makeup removers help!

11.   Rock out your new Ruby tights.  Put the panty hose on then the knee highs and go kick some Grimm butt.

i made all 3 myself! it was actually pretty easy so ill use this as like. a tutorial for anyone else who wants to make one :~)

so i got a builders tube from lowe’s and cut out the face, head, and antenna hole with a box cutter, covered it with fabric using hot glue, and used eva foam for all the designs

then i used more eva foam for the face, and stretched out some translucent pantyhose to cover up the eyes, and for the sides i cut out some circles in insulation foam and covered those in fabric as well, which you can kinda see in number 6

and as for the antenna’s i got some styrofoam cones and balls from hobby lobby, paper mâchèd them, painted them, then just stuck them through the antenna hole in the head!

I like making this better than a normal pleated skirt because my opinion is they look a little better and easier to make. I’ve used this pattern for Rosario + Vampire Moka, Lucy Heartfilia from Fairy Tail and lastly Maka Albarn from Soul Eater. Most likely will be using this for other cosplays down the road

ATTENTION COSPLAYERS:

I would like to make the paint brand “Angelus” known. It is a special paint that is for leather, faux leather, rubber, and similar surfaces.

This is literally the best paint you can buy if you love a pair of shoes, but they aren’t in the right color for your character.

This stuff coats VERY well AND the coats of paint bend with your shoes. This means no cracking!!

In the photos above I took black rain boots and painted them with Angelus Turquoise. As you can see, they don’t look black any more! It’s so good!

I managed to paint two boots with a little one ounce bottle of the paint, and I still have a third of the bottle left over!

The paint dries very fast, so you can put layer on top of layer on top of layer without it streaking.

You can get the paint on Amazon and it comes in every color!

Ya’ll….this girl is a freaking GENIUS.  I’ve yet to see a cosplayer do better makeup, especially since she does everything from fantasy makeup to gender swaps.
