one of my silly fr ideas is that there is no evidence for domesticated cattle (they get dairy from snakes) but there is evidence for the existence of a cowboy-adjacent culture (highnoon sets, some other stuff?) so. chicken farming works exactly like the mid 1800s american beef industry. chicken herders on the open range. lassooing them.

These drop from buttersnakes in the coli, and are to my knowledge the only dairy-based food items on the site.

The only bovine familiars are the Tauruses (made of water) and Ophiotauruses (reptilian).

I can draw no other conclusion but that we're milking the snakes.

1) if there is a bug/what could be a bug you can check their thread to see if theyve acknowledged it or someone has posted it.

2) if there is a design element you don't like, you can talk about it in suggestions. they have said they are open to it.

3) remember that this is for accessibility and long term AND it is a big change. give it a few days or weeks to see whats just sifferent and what's not working.

and no there is no going back to old site ui. they have said that multiple times.

Regarding the UI changes on fr. Ill definitely be using the mobile version once the full site updates to it. Happy that the people who have wanted dark mode finally have it! (Id personally love more color options cause unfortunately the dark and slate both look really weird with my dragons.

Thinks there's a lot of bugs that they need to work out but thats always why they didnt implement the changes to the whole site yet.

Though I will say that buttons are a bit harder to see with the update. My old man eyes cant tell which familiars ive bonded with and which I havent

The UI update could be better.

Is it the end of the world? No.

Is it perfect and needs no changes? Absolutely not. The devs need time to fix the bugs though. It is the first time they're even putting themes on the site. A site that has been around since 2013. There are bound to be bugs.

They already explained why they can't give people a legacy option months ago when we were first told this was going to happen. It's obvious we won't be getting one since they don't have the means to maintain both.

I think the update is a step in the right direction for accessibility, even if the current themes aren't... Great in my personal opinion. I can tolerate the dark theme for a bit while dust settles at least.

I will point out that the announcement post said that they can make more themes. The way things are set up now should mean that it'll be easier to make themes that can accommodate more people.

Post in the suggestions forum your ideas on themes that'd work better for you instead of just yelling at the site staff that everything sucks and you hate the update. Insulting them while not explaining what stuff you think should be adjusted doesn't help anyone.

Be constructive with your criticisms. That's what's important right now.

It is understandable that people are upset since it's a big and rather messy change, but holy shit it seems like everyone has been taking flight rising updates so personally lately.

Personally: if you've got icons for your ui use them. Use them. Use them and make sure that if it's necessary, the icons themselves say what they are for screenreaders.
