Loving someone that doesn’t love you back in the ways you wished they did, takes a toll on your body. It completely drains you and leaves your soul withered and dry. It’s almost like a flower, left out in the hot sun, being neglected of all the things that it needs to flourish and thrive. It waits day after day, as it’s petals lose it’s vibrant colours, and it’s no longer healthy leaves slowly begin to shrivel. It waits until there is nothing else for it to give to the sun, and there couldn’t possibly be anything else left for the sun to take. But then the rain pours, and drowns this flower and everything around it, as if what this flower was begging for and so desperately needed was too much. It was to much for this defeated and damaged flower to handle. Maybe the flower was better off in the dry heat, at least it knew it could survive it. But that damn heat, stole all it possibly could without even considering the consequence. This heat that ruined all the beauty from within the flower. Eventually the rain stopped, and the flooding seeped down into the soil. The flower no longer wished for the heat. And it’s petals grew back, this time in a different shade, not quite as vibrant as before, but still just as beautiful.
