This peach-colored robe à la polonaise first swept across the screen in the 2006 𝑴𝒂𝒓𝒊𝒆 𝑨𝒏𝒕𝒐𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒕𝒕𝒆, where it was designed by Milena Canonero and worn by Kirsten Dunst as the ill-fated queen. Canonero’s sumptuous work on the film was recognized with the Academy Award for Best Costume Design.   But that wasn’t the end of its story. In 2012, the gown reappeared in the Danish historical drama 𝑬𝒏 𝒌𝒐𝒏𝒈𝒆𝒍𝒊𝒈 𝒂𝒇𝒇æ𝒓𝒆 (𝑨 𝑹𝒐𝒚𝒂𝒍 𝑨𝒇𝒇𝒂𝒊𝒓), worn by Alicia Vikander as Caroline Mathilde — a reuse confirmed by the film’s director, Nikolaj Arcel.   The following year, it returned to the screen in 𝑳𝒊𝒃𝒆𝒓𝒕𝒂𝒅𝒐𝒓 (𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑳𝒊𝒃𝒆𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒐𝒓), where María Valverde wore it as María Teresa Bolívar.   See the artwork that inspired this gown at Bit.ly/StuGeo079
