Last night a group of women of varying ages and diverse backgrounds gathered together at a overwhelmingly picturesque location on The Upper East Side to participate in an Article Club meeting. The event was the brain child of the ever brilliant Kayleigh Pleas, a long time friend, mentor, and source of inspiration of mine. She started these events with a small group of friends on the floor of her intimate downtown apartment, and although the location has been upgraded and the group of women has grown the intention remains the same - to build a community of women who are present, open, and connected with one another.
While we typically gather to discuss articles, this time we discussed an interview of Dr. Brene Brown.
If you have a fifty minutes to spare I highly encourage you take a listen to her talk: (http://www.onbeing.org/program/brene-brown-on-vulnerability/4928).Â
Brene Brown's research is changing the way we understand courage. Her research is giving us the language to understand and celebrate vulnerability as the birthplace of courage and everything that makes life worth living!
The Brave Collection is so grateful to have played a part in something that was so in line with our ethos and very nature. We met such a glorious group of Brave women and can only hope to continue participating in and providing events, like this one, for women in the future.
Because after all - courage is contagious.
