Throw Me Out to Sea

i know i don’t post a lot on here but i can’t post this on any of my socials that people in my life know about until i get to tell my dad in person first

around the beginning of april this year, i started a monogamous relationship with my best friend of 10+ years (we were previously in a poly relationship that ended at that time). y’all have no idea how long i have wanted to date this man, but i honestly thought that a poly relationship was how it would always be.

i moved in with him 2 hours away from my parents house where i lived before. we go up to my parents house pretty regularly, though. there’s an antique store close to their house that’s basically become a tradition for us to visit.

a week ago, we went to the antique store. we’d already talked about getting engaged, so we looked at the rings to try to get an idea of what i wanted. i mentioned this ring to point out the flower shape and purple stones as aspects that i liked. he asked the clerk if we could look at it, i assumed just to get a closer look at the flower design, and he asked me to see it fit.
