Sheila was once a Soc (from birth to 12 years old). Her family was forced to become a greaser after they went bankrupt. Sheila's father, Henry Dalton, was a scammer and was sued for a faulty oven that caught someone's house on fire. Sheila was scared to move to the North side because of the stories about the greasers; heard they were rough, mean, barbaric. The first of the Curtis Gang that she met was Sodapop. They met at the DX, he helped her when she was a few cents short for a pack of cigarettes (no he did not work there yet I think, she was 14, so estimate he was 13-14), which in return she shared the pack with him. He was the first friend that she made while living there. She met the rest of them during a rumble that she joined. She had been in rumbles before, but on the opposite side. She ended up getting her shit rocked by Dallas, Dallas recognized her as a Soc. She had her head bashed into a rock when she fell, which is why she has that scar on her forehead (she still is bitter about it and Dallas still doesn't give a damn). She ripped a chunk of his hair out, which he wasn't too happy about either. After the rumble ended, she was talking to soda, which is how she met the others. Johnny didn't like or dislike her, because of what he heard about women from Two-Bit and Steve after the whole thing with Sylvia, he was slightly fearful of her. He was very standoffish with her, just side eyeing her while smoking a cigarette. She mainly stuck with Soda and Pony, not bothering with the rest. Dallas, Steve, and Two-Bit picked on her a lot (scratch that they still do), calling her Rapunzel, lady-bits, whatever they could come up with that would annoy her. She didn't talk much with Johnny unless she was asking for a cigarette and vice versa. She spent the next seven years with the Curtis Gang until Johnny Died.

She loved Dally as a brother because he was the closest thing she had to one. She had a younger sister, but no one to rely on. Her parents were always absent because her mom was always searching for a job, and her father was either at the pub or watching her little sister Leron. Dally would give her really tough care, he would help get her out of scraps despite being mean. She felt safe with Darry, but he intimidated her and she never really talked with him unless she was sick or making small talk. Same with Steve, unless they were picking on each other or helping each other in a rumble, they didn't talk much.

Sheila and Johnny fell in love when they were 13-14, sitting out in the lot and smoking. Johnny just got beaten by his dad and Sheila ran out after an argument with her own. She just sat there holding him, as they smoked. She told him she loved him, and if it was up to her he'd never have a bruise again. Johnny just nodded along and hugged her tighter, stubbing his cigarette out. They started dating shortly after that when Johnny asked her out to the drive in, but of course Dallas and the rest tagged along.

When Johnny and Sheila started dating, it was awkward, and Johnny was pretty quiet and wouldn't be completely honest with his feelings until later.

When Johnny died, Sheila went mad. She attempted to run into traffic, to take her own life. Ponyboy wasn't fast enough and the car hit her. The crash did not kill her, but it did cause her right leg to become immobile. She was angry with God, so much that she lost faith and became an atheist. In her mind if there was a god, they wouldn't take her love and her friend away. After two years, she became delusional, believing that if she prayed hard enough and became a devout Christian God would bring them back, of course it never happened. Barely even a year passed, on Johnny's birthday she went out to the hills to watch her last sunset, before bleeding out with Johnny's switchblade. She wanted to see her love again, she couldn't deal with the heartache any longer.

Meet Sheila Dalton, she's my oc for The Outsiders, there's some information on the paper, I haven't drawn much of her yet (drawing them has been VERY frustrating)

I ship her with Johnny because he's my comfort character, she's a couple months older than Johnny, so she's about 16-17 years old. Her design and lore isn't complete, so she might be completely changed soon.
