henry was seated at the desk in the sherrifs office, eyes on his mother. life was so... complicated, confusing? he wasn't exactly sure how to define it. but that didn't matter right now because right now he was full of hope and excitement for the future. a future with his real family. a family that loved him and he was confident that emma could give that to him. "do you... do you have any stories you could tell me about my dad?"

     she was right, and he knew it. sure it wasn’t happily ever after once they broke the curse. curses just kept coming. bad things continued to happen to them and bad things had happened in the passed. over and over again. but hope was exactly what helped them to break the curse in the first place. and what helped them to continue to defeat evil every time. sure it sucked that evil seemed to never end, but giving up hope was like giving into the evil and henry didn’t want to do that. in fact, the last thing he wanted to do was let evil win by giving up hope. “it’s just hard sometimes.” he admits. “i believe in good. i believe in all of us. i love a good adventure as much as anyone else, but sometimes i just wish it would end and we could all be happy.”

perhaps he was being harsh, and very blunt. but if his feelings were the thing fueling him to throw down the bedsheets and climb out of that second story window in the first place, the pent up anger was bound to come out and right now henry had no remorse. staring down his mother as he waited to allow her a chance to say something worth him staying in that room before he finished what he'd began.

SIZZLE CAKES. henry was busted. and by all people it was mr. gold. even regina catching him wouldn't be this uncomfortable. then again, for the number of times henry has snuck out of his bedroom window (from the second floor nonetheless) it was only fitting that he would finally be caught. his face was flushed pink as he stared back at the older gentleman. a quick mental dilemma of whether he should lie or tell the truth. BUSTED. of all the people to catch him, it had to be his father. this confrontation would be much easier if it was emma or regina. literally anyone else. of course the universe would be against him like this. quite honestly, the familiar voice sends chills through his body. he knows there is no talking himself out of this one. of course, that wasn't going to stop him from trying as he stumbles out and over to neal. "i need some fresh air, that's and a chance to clear my mind. that's all." it wasn't a complete lie after all.
