NOTE TO SELF

I took some screenshots of this video, about “leftover women” in China, women who are unmarried and over the age of 25. I took screenshots every time someone said something that created a picture with the subtitles that just…. resonated with me. Something women can truly understand.

As they passed over the Atlantic on December 17, 1965, astronauts aboard Gemini 7 snapped this photo of Earth. The result has an accidental beauty.

I’m quite exhausted today - not sure why - bit I made up for it by making a lemon drizzle bundt cake. Also I really love this quote from Gilmore Girls:

If you are stressed out or emotional, don’t drink

Even if you’re in recovery and doing fairly well

Recognize your familiar patterns that usually lead to negative thoughts or behavior

Do what you can to thwart those thoughts and behaviors

Take a time-out when you need it

Be selfish every once in a while

Control your impulses - take a moment to step back, access the situation, and then move forward (think the red light - yellow light - green light situation I posted before)

Remember to self-soothe

Remember that whatever terribleness is going through your head at the moment, it will pass and you will be okay
