" Fight for this love" ;Rebecca Minkoff + Sale = Winning..kind of ?
&& damn that is one catchy song (Cheryl Cole - Fight for this love).
You know whats terrible about living on an island? Other than no delicious food aka, sushi, steak gelato ice cream etc, or fast stable internet or even the ability to walk home without getting chased by a donkey?
My only source of enjoyment is shopping online and seeing a coupon code. Sad? Yes, but lets be real; I am a starving medical student - deprived of many many luxuries that home offers. I do miss being able to walk into the little boutiques and pick up an item, inspect and compare it to others before making a purchase. These days I find myself staring at the same site FOREVER checking out its dimensions, the material and whether or not its versatile.
Anyways, this rant stems from a coupon code that was enlisted 2.5 weeks ago ( which was clearly too late for me to apply to my damn cart). "worldmastercardfashionweek.com" offers coupon codes for certain websites (free shipping, X% off with purchase of X etc). In particular Eluxe.ca offered/offers $100 off any $200 purchase, prior to this 2.5 weeks there was no restrictions. Of course when I want to make a purchase NOW, there is a restriction on the brands that I had my eye on - Rebecca Minkoff. Basically purchasing off this site was the BEST deal you could have gotten:
$141 - MAC mini, free shipping w. taxes (Y) - regular price is $225
Since there has been no classes last week and its a long weekend I've been hunting for a similar deal. (this shit will never appear again - settling is a bitch)
Now here is the solution:
Like Rebecca Minkoff on facebook. Why?
Every Sunday thus far she has been giving discounts off her official website. Last Sunday there was 50% off her regular priced bags of course only on selected items. This Sunday its 20% off.
Yay? Meh. Why the meh? Well essentially I have to spend $300 in order to get free shipping to Canada, and now with the 20% discount it basically covers my duties and taxes.
How much do I save? Approx $120 ...which is equivalent to one bag? ARGH. First world problems I know - it's actually embarrassing. Perhaps, if I was working I wouldnt have given two shits about the cost and how much I can potentially save. But as stated above, I will probably be in debt till after I finish school and then some.
Perhaps DTVU is correct - I have not hit my threshold yet. His theory is that I KNOW that I COULD have gotten it for a cheaper price. Even better than what Rebecca Minkoff is offering and thus, it still makes me hesitant on making the purchase.
So what is the verdict?
I think I'll wait till tonight to see if I REALLY want/need it. But, after consulting my good friend S.Abdullahi the pros do out weigh the cons. If I had made that purchase with the ORIGINAL discount ($100 off) I would have settled for a bag that is SIMILAR to what I want. I guess doing it this way I have 2 bags that I want and most importantly one is given away to my mamma for her birthday (Y).
It has to be a win. *sighs. Pictures will be up once I have it in my hands =_=
P.S
S.Abdullahi - I swear you do keep me grounded when the going gets tough :P my first world 'problems' ARE problems when I discuss them with her; and I am thankful that I have someone who doesn't judge me on my spending spree, my outlooks on life or even how superficial and shallow I am at times. I can be cynical and complete bitch and yet she still accepts my little black heart whole heartedly. Must be cause I am across the ocean from her and on a shitty island :P <3 you.
