rosseland has always been more teammate than pet, more trickster than catㅤ───ㅤit has managed to avoid all of lyney's traps to bait it out and away from his hat with twice the cleverness and thrice the foresight, consistently two steps ahead of anyone who dared underestimate it.

there's no chance of it mistaking this for a real mouse, but an astute cat is a cat nonetheless; wind up the right toy the right way, and the chase would be just as thrilling. lyney beams at his brother, picking up the gadget and inspecting it closely.
