My current “listen on loop ‘til it gets kinda old” song is River, as performed by Ben Platt from “the Politician” television series; really good and enjoyable if you have the time to watch it!

I think the song is very enjoyable and dissectable, but it’s use in the show (in the first episode, no less!) it gets used in a really meaningful way, which is probably also why I’ve been super into it (‘cause I’ve been watching the show, duh, and am obviously rather attached to certain characters, blah blah blah—), but in any case—I think you’ll like it even without watching the show 🤪

I don't watch many TV shows unfortunately but I know Ben acts from his heart. Every song of his feels so vulnerable that whenever I hear his voice even my thoughts get gentle.

One of the top comments said they wanted Ben to sing this song so much that they named the character River and if that's true it's hilarious 💀

The song 'River' itself is a true folk classic especially at Christmas. I've always been listening to the song from the pov of a mother losing her child but a lover fits its place wonderfully so too. But I really don't know much about the show-

Talked with a friend after months of no contact. I didn't want to hold my feelings and my chagrin inside. She was and is important to me, that's why I wanted to talk about it.

It wasn't perfect, it wasn't like oh I understand you fully we are best friends once more. She still didn't understand some of my points, I still was angry about some, she felt like I was blaming her and I had to explain every word of mine for her to not feel offended. But we talked. For a whole two hours in fact.

In the end I asked what she wanted. If she was open to building a relationship again, to try at least. We will try, becoming good friends I mean. It's just that I don't know if her own problems will affect it first or if we will be compatible. The future will show it.

Relationships aren't as complicated and hard as we make it to be I believe. They can fail yes, they can also continue for a good while and that's enough.
