If LJ had a crush on you, how do I think he’d go about courting you?

♡Well, first things first, he’d watch you. Stalker like behavior admittedly, but he swears he has good intentions!! Figuring out your schedule, who’s in your daily life, what you enjoy doing in your free time, etc etc. gathering information to understand you better.

♡Next, he’d let his presence be known. Well, sorta be known. He’s not gonna just jump out at you all Willy Nilly, although he so desperately wants to. Feathers linger at your bedroom door, candy you don’t remember buying in your pantry. How strange.

♡Gifts would become more personal after some time. You enjoy art? A nice set of pens and sketchbook at your door. Collect something? Sitting on your countertop is the very thing you collect. Run out of your favorite food? Well look at that, apparently there’s some more in your fridge!

♡Of course, it is Jack. He might take more… disturbing, measures to show his love. A dead rat you’ve been trying to get leave your apartment for WEEKS. Your annoying coworker suddenly not showing up for work, an odd figure watching you in your sleep… too dark to truly make out what it is.

♡When the time finally comes to reveal himself, he’d be giddy with excitement. Suddenly appearing behind you with a puff of smoke and a “boo!” Before dramatically confessing, after of course you got over your fright

I’m questioning whether or not LJ would be a good cook.

On one hand: there is the possibility that he isn’t. Quite simply he has never learned to cook, both because he had nobody to teach him and also because he is an inhuman entity. Last I checked he had no need to eat anyways.

On the other hand: he CAN cook but I don’t think presentation would be his strong suit. Now how he would learn to cook is beyond me, but let’s just say he can for the sake of this headcannon. I believe he might get too excited and go overboard with decor, especially when it comes to sweets. Cupcakes having five different sprinkles on them and cakes being covered in several flavors of frosting. Looking like some sort of abstract art piece rather than food.

Personally, I’m more fond of the second idea. Simply the idea of him making some sort of rainbow concoction of a cake amuses me deeply.

When it comes to comfort, I don’t think Laughing Jack would be the best at offering words of advice. He can empathize, but handling others emotions are not his strong suit. Both because of him not being human himself, maybe not fully grasping the existent of some emotions. And because of how much time he spent in isolation, not being able to experience necessary experiences that would help build his character and understanding of said emotions.

However, he can distract. Putting on a small show, acting silly to hopefully make your tears become laughter. And if all else fails, holding you until it stops

I’m quite fond of the idea that the feathers on LJ’s shoulders flair up when excited or shocked, shed off occasionally like an actual bird

Fun fact about my self insert (Lilith) she collects the feathers that fall off him

I love to imagine Laughing Jack as being VERY animated, almost cartoonishly so.

Beyond just the fact that he is extremely energetic, unable to sit still for more than a minute. I also believe he would have trouble hiding his emotions, even if not verbally expressed they would be shown through his actions.

To name a few examples: his head tilting like a confused dog, scoffing and dramatically crossing his arms when frustrated, tapping his foot at an ever increasing pace when impatient (which is often.) one might even consider this trait of his to be slightly childish or immature, which I suppose is fitting for his character lol

Jealous Lj wrapping his arms around in you in public and scaring off passersby who may want to strike up conversation. Even if they can’t see him, his presence alone is enough to make them uneasy 👀👀

A collection of LJ headcannons that have been sitting in my head. NOTE!!: some of these are just general hcs while others apply to a relationship scenario

~ Genuinely gorgeous singing voice, there’s some rasp to it but it’s overall not bad. Depending on the melody he’s singing it may even be soothing, although he has a tendency to throw in gory and gruesome lyrics.

~ I’ve said this one before, but reeks of sweets, like enough to make someone nauseous. Imagine if you took the sweetest perfume you can think of and poured it all over yourself, that’s what he smells like

~ he enjoys all candies, but he particularly loves crunching hard candies under his sharp teeth. He’s the type to bite into a jolly rancher, I fear.

~ HARD abandonment issues :( It’s part of the reason why he would hover around you so often if you were dating, as if ensuring you’re not leaving.

~ cartoon enthusiast, I’m not elaborating on that I honestly just wanna watch Scooby doo with him.

~ LOVES gifts but even more so if they are personal and creative. If you do something like paint him a portrait he will cherish it FOREVER

date with Lj but he refuses to lose any of the carnival games so now you’re walking around with 12 stuffed animals in your arms and he’s most certainly gonna add more.
