Knowing that the other professor had been under a great deal of stress — something he couldn’t even begin to understand the full extent of, but he was aware of her stress all the same — had Changsun concerned. The school year hadn’t even begun, and already Lucy had so much on her plate that she was irritable and constantly in a severe, agitated mode. Even moreso than usual, that was. Having decided to check on her because of this, and bring a peace offering in case she chose to snap, the Gryffindor head strode down the hall approaching his friend and colleague’s office, a mug of tea gripped tight in his hands and a plate of cookies floating behind him so he didn’t have to juggle the two treats he’d brought for her. Pausing at her door, he only lifted a hand to knock once before the door creaked open and he peeked inside at her, flashing his usual cheesy grin before he took a step in. “Hey, Luce. I figured you needed a pick-me-up…”

She was just about to grab an orange and cut it with one of her many knives when she heard a knock on the door. Wondering who it was, she placed the orange down onto the desk, opting to carry the butcher knife along with her as she opened the door slowly. Her eyes lightened up at the sight of her friend and her mood began to pick up when she realised the treats Changsun had brought along. "Come on in," Lucy grinned back at the professor, placing the butcher knife onto one of the shelves. "You should be asleep, though," she frowned as she reached for a cookie. Munching onto the cookie she grabbed, she made her way to close the door. "You're a life saviour, I swear," the female said dramatically, about to close the door when the lights went off. Frowning in the dark, she quickly conjured a fireball in her hand before she took a few steps backward at the sudden statue that appeared in front of her. "The fuck?!" The Ravenclaw quickly lit up all the candles in the room once more, snapping her fingers rapidly. "I haven't seen-- is that a weeping angel?"

{Smiles, rather proud of her hometown} Ah, thank you. I really like my hometown… {Pauses} Well, my father owns a pretty big business across Asia, dealing with aesthetically enhancing potions. Maybe that’s a little hard to believe, looking at me! It isn’t really my thing. {Laughs a little and wriggles nose} That’s true, but I don’t think I’ll be alone ever in this castle, I made a lot of friends already! Ah, Yoshizawa is preferred, I don’t really like Hitomi too much. {Frowns a little and shrugs} Ah, well… It was mostly for independence, I couldn’t do much freely with my father trying to dictate every move I made… Also, I’d visited England before so I wanted to come back for a more long term period! {Grins} I spent my holidays doing all of the typical tourist activities.

-his interest piqued once he hears mention of the Ministry, he pushes off from the door and makes his way over to where she sits on his desk, quirking a brow at her before his attention switches back to the paperwork she’s referring to- I don’t understand. We have classes that deal with far more dangerous subjects than the elements — we let our students near dragons — and they’re finding issue with your class in particular? -reaching towards the floating stack of parchments, he picks up the top sheet and skims over the words written down while clucking his tongue- This is ridiculous. If they don’t know it well, they should educate themselves. As if we would teach anything here that would harm students. Even the riskiest of lessons, professors keep a close eye and make sure no one is harmed. Do they not trust us to do our jobs?

{ `/ throws her hands in the air } exactly! it feels like someone's targeting me on purpose because of past grudges or something. merlin, i hate ministry officials. there's a reason why i quit being an auror. { `/ runs a hand through her hair which was now let down instead of the traditional bun she always had } i wonder if they're trying to cover up some sort of ministry scandal with me. you know how the ministry is -- start scandals at other places to avoid people noticing the shit going down there. { `/ sighs, casting her gaze down onto the floor } please, it's the ministry. they've disliked hogwarts ever since the headmaster decided to refuse the ministry's curriculum.

{ `/ purses her lips in a tight line, already feeling her head ache from the amount of paperwork she'd have to do for her class } uh oh indeed. { `/ she sighed as she sat against the wooden table you had been working seconds ago } the ministry is what's up. { `/ scowls as the memory of meeting the ministry officials flashes across her mind } the european magical union wanted me to submit legal documents to confirm that no harm shall be inflicted upon the students during elemental studies. apparently because elemental studies is more of an asian thing, they're not fond of it simply because they don't know it well. { `/ crosses her arms } which is utter bullshit i tell you.
