My theory is that the Asgardians are an Eternals off-shoot, with Bor, Odin, and maybe Heimdall being "true" Eternals and Thor being half-Eternal.

Here’s my thought process:

The cover story we got for the Deviants reminded me of the Dark Elves in Thor 2, an aggressive race emerging from the void shortly after the beginning of the Universe and attacking inhabited planets.

So, if Eternals were created to protect and nurture worlds with a Celestial seed from Deviants, maybe Asgardians were originally made to protect these worlds from external threats(with Dark Elves, Frost Giants, Surtur, etc all being pre-Celestial races).

Potential Evidence:

Both are super-powered aliens who somehow look exactly like Humans, arrive on Earth in ancient times, and inspire human mythology.

Asgardian magic seems closer to what the Eternals do (channeling Cosmic energy) than what Doctor Strange does (using spells to pull and shape energy from other dimensions). 

Certain Asgardians (Thor, Hela, Heimdall, and maybe Odin) have very specific, inherited abilities while other Asgardians seem to be just generally strong and long-lived.

Also some Asgardian tech seems to have runes or glyphs vaguely similar to the symbols we see when the Eternals use their powers. 

Before it blew up Asgard was less a planet and more of a floating, golden, space station, vaguely similar to what we see of the World Forge.

Ragnarok hinted at a “lost history” of Asgard and I always thought it was weird that these immortals wouldn’t remember or talk about their past despite the fact that much of it happened during Odin’s reign.

I arrive on Earth.

I forcibly hurl myself into the Sun.

Fuck it, I remember being 13 and it sucked. If I had to do that shit forever I’d try to blow up the planet too. 

Also, Ikaris fucking up so bad that he had to throw himself into the sun is the biggest mood.

I love Sif. She’s just the best.

As a fan of the Thor movies I also really enjoy both her episodes because they actually show Asgard’s role in protecting the other 9 Realms.

In “Yes Men” she apprehends an escaped Asgardian prisoner who is trying to start up her own Kingdom on Midgard. In “Who You Really Are”, she tracks down a renegade Kree soldier operating on Earth.

The implication being that while Asgard doesn’t meddle in Earth’s internal affairs, they’ve been the force that keeps other powers in the galaxy away. 

Specifically, the Kree, a militaristic Empire with an implied history of conscripting other species to fight in their wars.

- Agents of Shield reveals the Kree played a role in the creation of the Inhumans and came to Earth to experiment on ancient humans before Hive drove them away. 

-My memory is a little spotty but I believe these experiments took place very early in Human history, presumably sometime before the Asgardians arrived to thwart a Frost Giant/Jotun invasion. 

- Loki’s invasion of New York only occurs after the Bifrost is broken and Thanos only attacks after the events of Thor Ragnarok.  

Her cameo’s are also nice because we get to see a different side of Sif. 

In contrast to her ill-advised adventures with Thor and the Warrior’s Three, when Sif visits Earth to help out SHIELD she’s all business. 

Kind of a downer, I know, but I this one really resonated with me. Despite all the satirical sitcom trappings, Wandavision really managed to capture the feeling of someone in a depression, whose retreated into a constructed reality.

The specific kind of hurt when it feels like everything you try to build for yourself falls apart around you. The feeling of being on the brink of something really special and watching it slid away right in front of you.

Still trying to catch up. 

Iron Fist Season 2 is so good, guys. Season 1′s poor reception probably led to fewer episodes. Funny enough though, the tighter format really seemed to help in telling a concise, focused story without the meandering melodrama that sometimes creeps into the other Marvel Netflix shows.

I know I’m a little behind. I’ll try to catch up.

But I just really love these two. Naturally, I think the actors bounce off each other well. However, what I really like about this relationship is how it works structurally.

The show is named after the male hero and follows his journey. However, Colleen’s there in the first episode and (I believe) every episode thereafter. 

Her story, we learn, runs parallel to his. As an ex-Hand member Colleen was  manipulated and used as a tool by her mentor Bakuto. Her job was to turn inner city youth into disposable foot soldiers. 

This mirrors Danny’s own experiences in Kun-Lun, training to take on the role of a living weapon and taught to abandon the emotions and attachments that make up his identity.

She’s the co-lead in all but name and despite their different allegiances they quickly form an effective partnership.

The Danny/Colleen dynamic is also just refreshing. Superhero stories lean heavy into the dramatic tragedy of doomed love, double lives, and secret identities. These have their appeal but it is nice once awhile to see something a little more simple and practical.

Danny and Collen work as a team and when they finally officially pair up, they’re always open and honest with each other. They try to be supportive and respectful, even when their priorities don’t align.

Danny and Joy actually had a really endearing relationship in Season 1, both embodying a sort of lost childhood to the other. However the events of the finale create a rift between them. This sets up Joy to be the sympathetic villain of Season 2, switching places with her brother Ward.

Enter Mary Walker, a “private investigator” with DID, is season 2′s an anti-hero, of sorts (though honestly most of the villains are pretty grey).

She’s a spanner in the works, seemingly amoral, self interested, and flexible in her allegiances.

Originally employed as a weapon against Danny she gets embroiled in the greater conflict that develops.

In the process the distant, pragmatic, mercenary develops a unique dynamic with both Danny and Joy that I found honest, open, and endearingly protective in places.

My boy! While Season 1 was a bit of a bumpy road I’ve found Danny Rand to be a consistently great character, driven, idealistic, and compassionate yet deeply flawed. 

Danny is a skilled fighter and a hero at heart. However, he’s also emotional and impulsive. His constant, almost desperate, need for identity and direction often leads him to take on more than he can handle.

Through season 1 and 2 he threads a difficult path between the complicated and often conflicting obligations of his roles as both Danny Rand and the Iron Fist.

Ok, favorite might be a stretch but I have a real soft spot for the Inhumans and nobody else is gonna do it. 

The core concepts are fascinating and the cast makes their characters pop despite a rushed and clunky script.
