Is Vanitas' reaction to finding out about Noè's childhood and how he was sold on the market.

Vanitas knows this, he learned this about Noè from Domi, and yet he never brought it up, never asked Noè himself, doesn't pry or push despite the fact he definetly has questions about this himself.

I think that was the first real shift in Vanitas attitude changing towards Noe, most likely because it reminded Vanitas of his time with the Docter and his own childhood, he saw something similar reflected in Noè's past and thus it led him to actually concider Noè's situation, that he wasn't just another wealthy and sheltered Vampire.

BUT what fascinates me, if their characterisation from this. Noè is a character who constantly asks questions, he always wants to understand, he wants to know everything about someone, and so him wanting to drink vanitas blood is less about the taste I think and more about his desire to understand Vanitas as quickly as possiable withiut realising that he himself hasn't even opened up to Vanitas at this point.

While Vanitas is/was at the beginning, a character who kept everything a secret, he didnt want people to get close, he didnt want them to understand because I think deep down what he fears most IS being understood.

That's where his obvious dislike of Archivistes comes from, why we saw him switch up when he first learned what type of Vampire Noè was.

Because I think, Archivistes are naturally curious, more so than the average vampire, we even see this reflected in the marquies and her interest in machinery and engineering, its also reflected in how Noè loves tk read and learn.

It is their job to be Archivists, their job to understand where others fail to.

And that must be terrifying to someone who does not want to be understood.

All this just to say, I think the eradication of the Archivistes was based in that fear. The fear of someone/something knowing you better than you know yourself, even knowing your weakness and hiw the mind can make you beleive they could use it agaisnt you at any moment.

People also fear the truth, anither thing Archivistes would be able to see with ease.

I am a firm beleiver that Archivistes have more abilities than we currently know of, that they can read the emotions of people better, can sense intent better than the average vampire. We just haven't seen it, because Noè wasn't raised by Archivistes himself.

What he knows is only what his teacher allowed him to know, and its clear thr book of vanitas and 'seeing its true character' is a test of some sort.

Its also no secret that a reoccurring theme in this story is how people perceive others, and how that perception can change when you try to understand them yourself.

I'm a few days late but thats because I forgot to post this here! In celebration of the month I decided to sketch this of my favorite son. After realising he wouldn't have a clue what any of the new flags look like beyond the rainbow flag.

Andre's just trying to show support Eddie like damn! He isn't calling you a narcissist. It's your fault for matching the flag!

Olruggio

A brimmed cap that dapples in forbidden magic but does not seem to want to be a brimmed hat themself, I can see him being distant with other brimmed hats that have more extreme views and him keeping more so to the edge of things, easily sliding between the two side and acts more like an observer than an active participant in the chaos.

He still sticks to his inventions, But encourages his apprentices for their interest in other forms of forbidden magic as he says- life is the best teacher 👀 and sometimes the best way to learn is from mistakes.

However where Olruggios role really step in and where he and Qifrey cross paths is when Inguin succefully manages to convince Coco to join their side.

In this fic Coco would be an apprentice of Inguins naturally.

Inguin was there initially when Coco cast the spell that crystallised her mother, in this Au that is the first time Qifrey and Inguin meet face to face and since Coco is still new to magic and freshly traumatised, Inguines offer to be able to help save her mother sooner is of course is much more tempting to a child who's nieve to the world of magic and so she accepts the help with a hushed appolgy to Qifrey who now just lost another connection to the brimmed hats.

Inguin is more extreme in their teachings, often throwing Coco into extreme scenarios rather than letting her explore magic naturally and choose her own path. Or even at the best of times neglecting her to let her figure things out on her own which is NEVER good when magic is involved and so Olruggio (painfully soft hearted Olruggio) steps in because this kid nearly blew her own leg off by trying to draw a flying glyph on her bare feet-

She remains Inguins student but she conciders Olruggio another master of her's as he often steps in when things get too out of hand, and seems to have her best interest at heart.

In this au Coco and Tetia are both on the side of the brimmed hats, Olruggio having found Tetia when she was younger and lost in the woods.

Qifrey and Olruggio Cross paths, and there's almost this instant fascination with one another, they have heard about each other of course, Qifrey one of the greatest witches of the Pointed caps who chooses to live In an atelier far away from all.

And Olruggio the star of the brimmed caps who's inventions baffle even the pointed hat world to the point they adapt some of his creations for more 'legal' use.

Qifrey however is still desperate for answers and thinks Olruggio might have them. So the two fight, it starts to rain, till Qifrey manages to get Olruggio on his knees with rain cleaver pointed at his throat.

They have a back and forth like that, with Olruggio not once raising his voice and more so treating Qifrey like an idiot who acts impulsively, Qifrey getting emmbaressed by that, but where the story really kicks off is somehow during the fight Olruggio got stabbed ei

With a branch and Qifrey didnt notice (nor care tbh) till well.. the brimmed hat is now bleeding out in front of him but just as Olruggio is about to pass out and Qifrey realises what's happening there is a sudden cry from the distance, a strong gust of wind and something- or someone zooming past him to catch Olruggio.

Enter Tatia and Coco, who look absolutely terrifyed because we'll they just found their teacher bleeding out and a pointed cap with a sword is right there.

There's a bit of a stand off but Qifrey sees them for what they are. Terrifyed children. He didn't realise there were other children with the brims outside of Coco, and seeing as Coco met Qifrey before its a bit easier to talk her out of standing defensively when Tatias healing magic doesn't fully work, after all she still is a child who's learning and the fact that it's raining means the ink won't stay for long. So to prove he means no harm, Qifrey does his little bubble thing to keep the rain away and that's enough for the girls to relucently trust him when he says that their teacher needs actual help, and Qifrey can give it but they will need to trust him for this.

Because like hell Qifrey is letting this man die without getting his answers!

So they go back to his Ateleir, Olruggio gets bandaged up but is still fast asleep, Coco and Tatia get to meet Agott and Richeh, though Qifrey made the girls take off their brimmed hats so his students wouldn't be in danger of knowing the truth should the knights moralis find out.

While Olruggio sleeps however Qifrey gets a better idea on who this..Olruggio is as a teacher and is surprised to find he doesn't align with what he thought all brimmed hats were. Coco and Tatia also seen to genuinely care for this man.

The rest of the fanfic carries on after Olruggio wakes up and is 1. CONFUSED 2. EXASPERATED with the fact the girls trusted a stranger. 3. Now feels like he owes this pointed cap something for doing all this.

Qifrey is surprised that Olruggio didn't seem to even attempt a memory wipe spell on him to get out of this and that's when he learns about Olruggios strong distate for the spell as a whole.

Eddie that does not sound as normal as you think it does.

I found a comic strip from a year ago in my files and wanted to redraw it ti see if I got a little bit better at paneling since. It was fun to draw! (Top is the redraw)

I was watching Enchanted and this scene just screamed Chadwick to me and I nearly choked, So naturally I offer Eddie and Chadwick to this screenshot redraw.

..I really care about his character as you can see LOL
