When they reached Kaibaland, Yuugi had meant to start with some rides before checking out the festival, but the gift shop was calling to him. “Let’s look in the gift store! I wonder what seasonal merch is new.”

Once inside, he intended to go to the plush and toys section (he had enough cards) but the card display took his breath away.

“Oh my god.”

Art on the wall above cases of individual cards, card packs, decks, and accessories depicted Seto AND Atem in some majestic anime character styling. Wow! Atem…

Reaching into his hair, Yuugi murmured, coming closer to the mural, “My hair isn’t THAT big.”

Jounouchi made a face, wrinkling his nose.

"Ain't it screwed up to profit off a dead person?" He joked.

He had to admit the merchandise looked amazing, it simply did not sit right with him that Atem was getting none of the benefits. Maybe he's enjoying the view from the afterlife?

He hoped so. Atem deserved to be remembered.

His eyes turned soft at the thought of the other Yuugi watching everyone from afar.

"Hey, you should ask for royalties! They're using your likeness, you know," he suggested, playfully nudging Yuugi. "You're technically a KaibaCorp employee by association."

Upon closer inspection, Jounouchi gaped at what he spotted in the next card display. The Red-Eyes Dark Dragoon.

"Look, Yuugi! It's our ace monsters fused together!"

He's itching to have it. It turned out going to Kaiba Land wasn't a waste after all.

He smiled when Jou pointed out the card.

“Wow, that’s so cool! You should get it! I think I’m going to get this Kuriboh keychain… Yeah, I need it.” Yuugi said before stepping over to examine a rack of shirts.

“Oh…” He pulled out a shirt with anime-fied Atem on the front. On the back, instead of Blue Eyes White Dragon wrapped around the KC logo, it was Osiris.

“This is the coolest shirt I’ve ever seen… But I think I would look pretty narcissistic to wear a shirt of me even if it’s very Atem coded.” he said and put it back; he went to buy his new keychain and clip it to his backpack. He was glad Seto adored Atem, even if he wasn’t sure how to feel about him making money off him.

At the register he picked up a festival pamphlet. “This has a map of the festival booths!”

There had to be some scheme to be made possible when he had the knights and Rey to assist.

rey watched kylo closely as he spoke. she kept one hand at the back of his head fingers buried in the dark and surprisingly soft hair the other cupped his cheek. “i trust you.” she said softly frowning slightly in concern. “you won’t be safe if he finds out about us. i don’t care much for my own safety.”

“Mm, you’re not wrong.” Kylo remarked, but he didn’t have the heart to inform her what all hell Snoke had put him through after the Starkiller incident. “You’ve become accustomed to my mental presence… if you ever feel something foreign encroaching, you have to do everything you possibly can to think nothing. Hux has learned when he cannot recognize Something as me, he will practice remembering rote things. Mechanical repetition it a good way to protect yourself, especially if it’s something that appears relevant to ordinary thought processes.”

Kylo patted her hand on his cheek and turned his face to kiss it.

“Supreme Leader Kylo Ren sounds very satisfying.”

rey offered him a small smile as she looked up at him. “thank you for the advice.” she hummed brushing her thumb over his cheek before he kissed her palm. she smiled brightly at the feeling of his lips against her skin.

“it does have a certain ring to it.” she chuckled lightly as she offered him a small smirk.

His smile widened, and he let go of her hand to give her a hug. “I think it will be nice to work remotely tomorrow… I won’t have anywhere I need to physically be.” Not quite a day off because he would need to be on his laptop some of the time, but on his laptop in bed? Yes please.
