they get along fine and toff maintains that he’ll be there for him as a veteran player but he did Not sign up to sit across from him at saturday brunch, or to trip over his shoes next misa’s, or for him to steal toff’s favorite lawn chair. it’s strangely similar to trying to interact with your roommate’s boyfriend who’s around all the time but doesn’t pay rent, except toff is more than a decade older than both of them

toff does his best to hold his tongue abt all the couch pda and the fact he has run into sam at two am more than once but he needs sam to make a little more effort to pretend he is not hooking up with or dating or defiling his billet son. at least with willmack, they leave. the problem with samisa is that they essentially live with toff even tho sam has a perfectly good apartment of his own

threatening to kick sam out, repeatedly, doesn’t work. and when he does finally listen, sam likes to take misa with him which is somehow worse. as much as the parent-son jokes are funny, toff is not actually misa’s father, he knows that, and yet he still grumbles when he gets the staying at sam’s tonight texts or the don’t need a ride tmrw, sam’s taking me texts. which is mildly embarrassing bc cat just pats him on the back, reavo looks at him like he’s finally lost it, and willmack call him an empty nester
