But given that it *is* a thing, do I hope it kind of fucks up Alexei/Andrei Rozanov's life in Russia when his famous brother comes out as bisexual?

What's unreasonable is instating that rule in reaction to a public relationship reveal and expecting it to break up the relationship like it can be retroactively applied back to when it started.

But other workplaces don't (theoretically) have that problem because they preemptively instate some policy regarding the situation that might arise due to two employees being attracted to one another, because they admit that their employees are adults with sexual preferences that neither they nor the organization can, or should have to, change.

But the NHL couldn't do that preemptively. Because that would have required the admission that at least two of their male players are potentially, in fact, attracted to other men to some degree, and that the chance of any given player being solely attracted to women is nonzero, and that the attraction isn't a choice or something that on its own should be changed, hence the need for a policy discouraging or barring actually acting on it with another player, because that is a choice.
