About Lex:
Born to an unkind family in the slums of Metropolis, Lex vowed from a young age to fight for the life he believed he deserved. His intellect and perseverance gained him acceptance to MIT; the insurance money from his parents' suspicious demise paid for it. At age 18, Lex formed his own company - LexCorp - which went from a garage-level operation to a multinational company worth billions, with a hand in everything from foodstuffs to genetic engineering and quantum field research.
Despite this great success that could take him anywhere he desired...Lex cannot get past the fact that Superman came to prominence at the same time as him, and has an undeniably greater fanbase.
Initially, Luthor's anti-Superman acts were merely a means to prove himself, to quell the anger inside of him, but every time Lex attempted to prove Superman unworthy of attention, Superman defied Lex's predictions; an attempt to show Superman as ultimately selfish served to show the public how selfless Superman could be. An attempt to expose Superman as an alien outsider enhanced Superman's reputation as a relatable figure.
Over the years, Lex's hatred of Superman has remained his driving motivation, though it has not stopped him from maintaining a foothold and presence as one of the smartest and richest men on earth. Despite frequent allegations of allegiances with dictators and super-criminals, Lex always manages to come out on top...or at least next to the top, right behind....you know who.
Notes:
Regardless of how he might appear in faceclaim icons/GIFs etc., this version of Lex is undeniably bald (I didn't want to limit myself to only using bald actors/characters for visual references)
