Odd Comic Facts (Lex Luthor's Robot Hand and the Kryptonite Ring)
Hey, any of you casual comic fans know about that kryptonite ring that Superman gave Batman in case of emergencies? That thing that was a major sign of trust? Ever wonder where it came from, or why it was a ring?
The answer is: Lex Luthor.
In Superman (1987)/Volume 2 #2 (February 1987), Lex had taken the kryptonite heart out of Metallo, broke off a chunk, and had that chunk made into a signet ring (that's a ring you use to press seals into wax) as a weapon against Superman.
However, about a year later in real time, in Action Comics (1938)/Volume 1 #600 (May 1988), this plan was revealed to be a bad idea. Before Crisis on Infinite Earths, kryptonite couldn't hurt Earthlings at all. However, with Crisis, the company changed the rules. Now, kryptonite radiation could hurt us just as much as Clark. It just took a long time for it to happen.
The ring is what gave Lex his kryptonite cancer (watchers of the 2001 Justice League cartoon may remember that plot point). In the comics, Lex had to have his right hand amputated. So, yes, starting in the late 1980s, Lex Luthor's right hand was a mechanical prosthetic. Lex Luthor is a cyborg.
And there's your fun trivia for tonight.

When I think of Superbat, I think of trust. And when I think of superbat and trust I think of this:
panels from Action Comics #654
(and other things, but that's beside the point for this post). Superman trusts Batman with his life, and the decision to stop him if he ever needs to. But Batman also trusts Superman to make the right choice, giving the ring to him first. Even though at this point in post-crisis continuity they're not really friends - they know each other and their secret IDs, they've hung out a couple of times, but that's about it - Bruce doesn't make this choice himself and keeps anything from Clark, but gives the choice to Clark. This is not (yet) the paranoid Batman that keeps things like this from Clark.
So, where does this symbol of their friendship and trust come from, you ask? What happened to and with the ring throughout the years of post-crisis canon? Let's get into it under the cut.

SUPERBAT in THE SPECTRE(1922) #22 What would happen if SUPERMAN got the Destiny of Spear? And who can stop him and save the world?
Sure we all know who’s the hero ( ●≧艸≦) ------Comic Review written in Tranditonla Chinese----- https://worldsbestsuperheroes.wordpress.com/2020/10/25/%e3%80%90%e8%b6%85%e8%9d%99%e4%bc%b4%e8%ae%80%e3%80%911994-09-the-spectre1992-22-%e6%87%b8%e5%b4%96%e5%8b%92%e9%a6%ac%e7%9a%84%e8%b6%85%e4%ba%ba/
