I know but seriously. Thank you. I feel like there's not enough gratitude these days and I want to make sure that each and every one of you get a little bit of love back for giving love to fic authors like me.

My pool of energy, focus, and time have been limited for a long time. It's why I usually make a few silly posts and then disappear. It's why I rarely engage. I'm on E almost all the time and to the outside eye, that can look a lot like indifference or a lack of gratitude. It's not. It's either excruciating awkwardness or having 2 functioning brain cells and they're distracting each other.

I so appreciate the time and energy everyone takes to read my work. Full stop. If you then go on to review and engage with it? That's a level of generosity that deserves pause. These days, we're pulled in a thousand different directions. Everything is scary. But you still went over to a stranger's fic and gave your own limited time and energy into expressing love for it.

Vernon Roche is on the long road  back to Vizima when he’s  ambushed and fatally wounded by Iorveth. But  he doesn’t die. Iorveth  takes him to a remote village where he’s  magically bound by an Aen  Seidhe right. Roche has to serve Iorveth and  the elves who live there in  order to earn back his freedom.

With Temerian sovereignty hanging by a thread, Roche resorts to increasingly desperate acts to escape. When each one fails, he has to face the possibility that nothing, not even death, can set him free.
