*Richard Diebenkorn, The Ocean Park Series, Orange County Museum of Art/Delmonico Books-Prestel/exhibition book, Plate 19 at p. 77. But what’s interesting is that the colors in the image posted by alongtimealone - particularly the blue in the center - are considerably richer than those in Plate 19 of the Ocean Park Series catalogue, where the deep blue shown above is replaced by a flat purple. Ten years ago, the (then) owners of the painting noted that they occasionally let their favorite object out for exhibitions. With any luck the appearance of what may be a new image signals that #32 is scheduled to appear in a forthcoming exhibition.
