“Your fifth one? Shit, and here I thought I was doing good with my second. Do you want me to get you some water champ?”

“okay, i haven’t eaten this much junk food in… well, never.”

“Right? I have the worst stomach ache and I’m still thinking about going for another bag of cotton candy. Is that wrong?”

“the rides sort of look like fun… but didn’t you see that story in ohio? no thank you. carnival rides are old and rickety.”

“Yeah, but what are the chances these are actually going to break and kill anyone? I think we’ll be okay. Plus, what else is there to do?”

Quentin walked around the carnival, trying his best to avoid people in his class. He was always too shy, never really knowing how to approach anyone. He kept his eyes on the ground as he continued moving, his fingers curling around his whiteboard as anxiety bloomed within him. He was so caught up in his own head that he didn’t see the person in front of him. He let out a small sound of shock as his body collided with theirs, a deep pink blush spreading across his face as he glanced up at the other. He wrote a quick message, his eyes immediately falling back to the ground to avoid their gaze. “I’m so sorry, are you okay?”

Harper had wondered out looking for some type of food that wasn’t going to make her feel sick because it was deep fried or just junk in general when she was knocked over, “Oh!” She frowned as she looked over at the boy and stood up, wiping her hands off on her pants she offered him her hand and smiled as she read what he had written, “Don’t worry about it- I wasn’t watching where I was going. I’m alright, are you?” She asked as she tucked a strand of hair behind her ear.

“ see, this was lit when i was in high school, but now, i just wanna get fucked up. even if i don’t get fucked up, i can’t even have *fun* with half the people here ’cause they are either married, way younger than me, too close to me or — i’ve already had enough fun with them. my tinder is B O R I N G me and on top of that everett is B O R I N G me.”

“So...you came to a back to school carnival looking for someone to hook up with or drink with? It sounds like maybe you should go to a bar or something instead.”

After a fun filled day at the carnival, Nevaeh had thought she’d be happy and having fun all night long as well. Sadly, That wasn’t the case. Thanks to her poor choice to snack on some deep friend yumminess, she was now miserably sick and hooked up to fluids in the carnivals medical center instead of out having fun with her friends and family. “I know I never use the word ‘hate’…. But I hate this.” She muttered with a heavy sigh, a frown forming as she heard a happy squeal out where the fun was happening.

Harper was going to school to become a nurse so it only fit that she would volunteer to help in the medical tent for a few days. Sitting down next to the girl she frowned, “I’m sorry, at least there’s always next year? And I will hang out with you while you’re here?” she offered, knowing it wasn’t a lot. 

“You see, this, this is exactly why I didn’t want to come to this stupid carnival. I could be at home right now, or at Jakes house, or at the skate park. Instead im here, dying.”

“Do you want to go home? I can bring you home if you’re feeling that bad.”

I did the task because I think it was a good way to get to know Harper a little bit but I should be around to think of some more about her here soon, but until then feel free to hit me up for plots/or just to say hi!
