Picked up this book yesterday on a visit to chapters with a friend. Been wanting to read it for a while as I read most of my books on my e reader is was rare for me to buy a paper copy but I really wanted to support Gemma. I started reading it yesterday afternoon got quickly sucked into their stories. From the stories of grandparents to school days to meeting survivors I was absolutely touched. My favourite quote is “ when we put everything into someone else, we lose ourselves in the process. Eventually, we lose them, too.” This hit me so strongly after being in this position and I’m finally learning to put myself first. Today Marks 100 Days of Movement. 100 days of moving my body either by walking, workouts, dancing, and my favourite way hiking! I was inspired to achieve this goal everyday because I wanted hiking to be even more enjoyable and to be able to go longer distances and not slow down anyone on the trail with me. There was a point in my life where I was afraid to start over and I couldn’t imagine how I was going to create a better life for myself.
