LEGENDARY

𝐇𝐀𝐑𝐌𝐎𝐍𝐈𝐀𝐑𝐄𝐐𝐔𝐈𝐄𝐌 is a worldbuilding sideblog to @kingsthunder​, focusing on the history of the harmonia family, but also with other things, since the lore is incredibly expansive. in order to try to keep things somewhat organized, this blog exists, although updates are sporadic. this is not a roleplay blog, just a place for me to wordvomit & not clog everyone’s dash 

disclaimer: the worldbuilding can get dark, the harmonia family was literally cursed, & also there was a lot of death, so if violence or death or general tragedy isn’t down your alley, please curate your safe tumblr experience & don’t read through things! i will do my best to tag things! 

a passionate girl born to kantonian parents, touko was known in nuvema town for her brutal honesty, only outmatched in hard hits by those delivered by her fists. at the age of fourteen, she received tepig from professor juniper, and began her journey as a pokémon trainer. gym leaders spoke highly of her battle prowess, and word of her strength inevitably reached the king himself. 

touko met nassim for the first time when she was coming back from a fiery victory against cress at the striaton city gym. nassim challenged her to a battle, but only so he could hear the heart of her tepig. the first interaction ended with touko attempting to punch him in the face, calling him suspicious and demanding actual answers to why he’d challenged her out of the blue. the two wouldn’t meet again for another few months. 

over a two year period, touko traveled the kingdom of Unova, winning badges with her trusty partner, emboar, and getting into plenty of fights. most of her fights were with supposed members of the plasma templar, an order of holy knights led by the king, ghetsis harmonia. hating the behavior of these “new recruits”, touko decided to essentially stage a coup against the monarchy. 

she was granted the light stone and for a time, was able to travel with the guidance of the god of truth, reshiram, even if the god was dormant. she learned that her initial assumptions of the “new recruits” was right, but the truth of those people did not reflect the greater truth. 

after winning against the unovan elites, touko went to seek advice from the champion, alder, but found that instead she would be able to confront the person she had believed she needed to overthrow. although, first, she had to face down nassim, who turned out to be nassim harmonia, the crown prince, and her counterpart hero. she won her battle with nassim, only to learn that her next fight was against the king himself. 

her battle with ghetsis harmonia was much more than between pokemon; she learned quickly that the king’s pokemon were just as divine as the man himself, and instead, ended up giving him a thorough thrashing with her fists. as in, she literally beat him into submission before telling him that reshiram had told her that he was fighting for a lie, and that his ideal was not what would really come to be. 

touko avoided exile or worse due to the fact that she had gained the support of unova’s gym leaders, and even the sages, who convinced ghetsis to commune with the gods rather than act out of emotion. needless to say, ghetsis chose to trust the word of the god of truth, and touko got what she wanted — ghetsis put an end to the so-called liberation. 

later, she would learn that the people she battled were not part of the plasma templar, and many had gone into hiding, or had been executed by the king. 

touko departed on a journey outside of unova, deciding that she would travel at the side of her counterpart hero, because truth and ideals were meant to exist not as enemies, but as allies.  

as in there are more generations of pkmn now and so some updates have to be made whoops. the changes will be reflected in my googledoc of worldbuilding, too, but first i’ll slap this here. ( so far it is NOT finished due to needing to write new descriptions but BASICALLY. also it is not under a readmore bc u kno. u gotta endure my wall of text until i get it in the gdoc )

HOW ARE GODS CLASSIFIED? so, it really is a lot of “when did these gods start gaining recognition globally, rather than being contained to a specific region or culture”, and some of this is about when the gods came into being, but really, there are few gods that actually were created within modern times. 

this references the categorization of gods according to the practice of the grand cosmology, a polytheistic view that is far more similar to greco-roman polytheism with the traits that come with a lifestyle like those who practice hinduism or buddhism. very spiritual and lifestyle focused. 

𝚃𝙷𝙴 𝙿𝚁𝙸𝙼𝙾𝚁𝙳𝙸𝙰𝙻𝚂. the category for gods that actually can’t be caught by people, because they’re the start of all things. these gods do not require the worship of mortals. the primordials have unparalleled power that cannot be measured by any scale. they almost never choose heralds and rarely pick guardians. they may pick a hero, but the point is, they really don’t interact with people on that level. MEMBERS OF THE PRIMORDIALS:

god of entropy, the primordial chaos. the “father” of arceus, comparable to the space that existed before the big bang. although, diazacul is not given worship by most, since he is considered “the source of evil”. not to say that there aren’t groups that see it differently, but worship is uncommon and temples even moreso.

the allfather, arceus. in some worships, arceus is seen as a monotheistic sort of god, or an ultimate force. in the grand cosmology, the allfather could be akin to zeus or odinn. not a god to be trifled with, ever. fickle in nature to other gods and to mortals alike. there are more temples to the allfather arceus than there are to any other god.

the first god, universe eternatus. the first god “born” to arceus. this god lives in “the universe reversed” and is responsible for the creation of the stars. in a tragic act, this god became involved with two heroes of legend. it is said that this god is capable of sealing away his own power to live a mortal life temporarily. fragments of this god’s original body are known as “wishing stars” and are responsible for the ability to use dynamax. 

the watcher, omega ark timelord dialga. the second god “born” to arceus. this god lives in “dialga’s space” in between realities and is responsible for maintaining the linear passage of time within corporeal domains. 

the guardian, omega cradle creator palkia. the third god “born” to arceus. this god lives in “palkia’s space” in between realities and is responsible for maintaining the base components of corporeal domains. 

the key and gate, lord of the dead giratina. the fourth god “born” to arceus. this god lives in “the reverse world” and is often mistaken in monotheistic practices to be the antithesis to the allfather. this god is responsible for protecting the souls of the dead and upholding the pillars of planetary reality.

𝚃𝙷𝙴 𝙰𝙶𝙴 𝙾𝙵 𝙱𝙴𝙶𝙸𝙽𝙽𝙸𝙽𝙶𝚂. this category has gods that no one has ever disputed the divinity of. they embody concepts that have existed far beyond the beginning of human civilization

great destroyer, mother apocalypse yveltal. unique in this category, the mother apocalypse births four types of eggs; “natural death” “death by illness” “death by famine” and “death in battle”. the mother apocalypse has never been seen by any mortal, but her offspring are known quite well. 

great healer, breath of life xerneas. rumored to have origins as a great forest, this pokemon is known as “the life pokemon”, although xerneas did not give life to other beings, and instead is known to represent “renewal” or “continuation” after great tragedy.

great harmonizer, wise zygarde. existing to mediate the powers of yveltal and xerneas, this god now lives deep in a cavern; “the world beneath the ground”, not to be confused with “the reverse world”. should something happen to the mother apocalypse or the breath of life, this god’s power becomes the opposing force to the remaining god. in the case of both the mother apocalypse and the breath of life being incapacitated, this god has the attributes of both. 

greatest sun, solgaleo of the dawn. the first solgaleo, comparable to helios. lives in “ultraspace”

gentle night, lunala of the moon. the first lunala, comparable to hecate or selene. lives in “ultraspace”

primordial aura, necrozma of many colors. an odd deity that lives in “ultraspace”. functions similarly to zygarde, but with solgaleo and lunala.

windwalker, divine dragon ascended rayquaza. responsible for the winds and the ozone layer, ascended rayquaza is commonly worshipped by draconids. a younger rayquaza sleeps in a grand tower, the first one has vanished to who knows where.

stormbringer, primal kyogre of oceans. the creator of the vast oceans. a younger kyogre now swims in the seas; the first has vanished to who knows where.

earthshaker, steadfast primal groudon. the behemoth who created the land masses. a younger groudon sleeps in a volcano, the first has vanished to who knows where.

burden carrier, titan regigigas. look up titan atlas that’s basically regigigas thanks for coming to my tedtalk 

mother of monsters, mew. legend has it that mew is the mother of all non-divine pokemon, or something of the sort. despite the title, she is very gentle! it simply refers to the beings she is said to have birthed.

𝚃𝙷𝙴 𝙰𝙶𝙴 𝙾𝙵 𝙼𝚈𝚃𝙷𝙾𝙻𝙾𝙶𝚈. gods in this category are surrounded by myths that are quite popular. they came into popular worship in early ages of “human civilization” ( eg. truly the 40,000 years ago when modern human civilization was said to have begun )

lady of the boundary, ice queen kyurem. rumor says that the lady of the boundary devours human beings. some say that she is the remnants of a single dragon that was split by turmoil. she lives in a grand cavern of ice. in truth, she is representative of balance, almost like zygarde. she is capable of adding the power of reshiram or zekrom to her own. of all of ourandiel’s deities, she is the most likely to actually pass judgement on a person. in ancient times, instead of taking prisoners to court, they would be brought to the giant chasm where kyurem would deliver justice in some way or another.

undeniable constant, truth seeker reshiram. the god of truth made of white fire. a grand dragon, reshiram is also a very interesting deity, as in there are rumors that this god is in fact both multiple and singular. some researchers believe that the normal/dragon type, drampa, was once reshiram, and has taken a new form due to having burned out its grand flame ( reshiram, being classified as fire/dragon ). no researchers have gotten close enough to reshiram to actually find out if this is true or not. reshiram is most featured in legend as the partner of the hero of ideals, idraeil harmonia. evidence toward the “drampa theory” comes due to the fact that the reshiram described as idraeil’s partner does not match the description of reshiram who eventually travels with the new hero, touko. but, no one really knows what happened to idraeil’s reshiram; this god may have revived while in the light stone.

path of the future, idealist zekrom. the god of ideals. a dragon made of obsidian scales and carrying divine thunder. there are no such theories about zekrom as there are with reshiram, and it is believed that the zekrom that travels at the side of nassim harmonia is the same one that was at the side of the hero king tevrien harmonia. zekrom and reshiram often clash due to that which they embody, but the two gods do not hate each other at all. 

eternal night, darkrai. known as the lord of nightmares or the god of sleep, there seems to only have been one darkrai ( per corporeal plane, of course ). this pokemon can bring prophetic dreams to others, although the dreams are often terrifying. the most popular story of darkrai links the god of sleep to king sanivar harmonia. this pokemon has made his home in alamos, sinnoh, but once lived on “new moon island”, a place that could only be accessed through astral projection in dreams.

dreamweaver, cresselia. rather, there are four cresselias to represent the four crescents of the moon. cresselia is said to gift feathers that will guide people in dreams. cresselia is favored by many seers and oracles.

star-catcher, slumbering jirachi.

undefeated, victory bringer victini. many legends exist about victini and her bond with the legendary king ceraeion of ydvraesia. she later chose romaya harmonia as her hero. when romaya died, she remained in the kingdom of the vale. in modern day, she lives in eindoak. she grants eternal victory to anyone she favors, which is why ceraeion was undefeated in battle. she is said to be able to predict her opponents’ moves, as shown by her dual typing, fire/psychic.

lords of the harvest, tornadus, thundurus, landorus. 

king of kings, kingmaker calyrex. in ancient times, this god granted the right to other people to become “king of kings”. all great rulers have met at least once with calyrex. calyrex rules over the crown tundra.

forest nymph, celebi. 

𝚃𝙷𝙴 𝙰𝙶𝙴 𝙾𝙵 𝙸𝙽𝙽𝙾𝚅𝙰𝚃𝙸𝙾𝙽. gods in this category became recognized a little later in human history. like ehhhh 10,000 BCE - 0 CE

willpower azelf, emotion mesprit, and knowledgeable uxie.

undying phoenix, ho-oh of the skies.

valkyrie of the seas, lugia. said to be a daughter of the primal kyogre, she also serves as a war goddess. 

angel of music, golem meloetta. a golem quickly deified. created by romaya harmonia in a failed attempt to revive his late mother ( or in some legends, an unborn sister ). patron of the arts.

dragon golem regidrago. in this category because much like meloetta, this golem may or may not have been created by romaya harmonia, the son of immortal king adaliz of the dawn.

sky dancer latias. 

soul whisperer latios. 

trickster god, djinn hoopa.

𝚃𝙷𝙴 𝙰𝙶𝙴 𝙾𝙵 𝙼𝙾𝚁𝚃𝙰𝙻𝚂. this is where the "young gods” go. gods who are recognized in modern history ( anywhere into the CE lmao ).

sanctuary, outcast mewtwo. artificially created, mewtwo gained true divinity after gaining worship from those who felt they had no place to turn to.

𝚃𝙷𝙴 𝙳𝙸𝚅𝙸𝙽𝙴 𝙼𝙴𝚂𝚂𝙴𝙽𝙶𝙴𝚁𝚂. divinities created by other divinities, basically.

noble steed glastrier. 

noble steed spectrier.

forest guardian zarude. 

golems regirock, regice, registeel, regileki. created by regigigas, but not much else is known about them. 

messenger birds articuno, zapdos, moltres. said to serve lugia, although recently their category has been debated due to discovery of variants in galar. but, they are certainly divine.  

divine beasts entei, suicune, raikou.  in this category as they serve ho-oh and were not humans turned into gods, but likely pokemon that were deified in their revival. 

grateful ones, shaymin of the earth and sky.

𝚃𝙷𝙴 𝙲𝙰𝙽𝙾𝙽𝙸𝚉𝙴𝙳 𝙼𝙾𝚁𝚃𝙰𝙻𝚂. exactly what it says on the label. humans who were turned into gods either by the worship and memory of their deeds, or by other gods’ blessings

i feel like the principle of Existing on a mortal plane  like yeets a great deal of a god’s power so due to Existing in a place , they cant access all of their powers. hence arceus only lives in the hall of origin , or giratina in the reverse world , or eternatus ( @aethernatus ) in the universe beyond because gods outside of their domains get nerfed so that they dont BREAK the universe

in arceus and the jewel of life , which i used as basis for cer’s ( @victoryflare ) story arceus is flat out KILLED for a hot minute and the darkrai movie shows the powers of gods clashing and BREAKING REALITY

giratina and the sky warrior shows that giratina has the power to control the stability of the world form the reverse world but when it enters the real world it’s easily captured and almost killed

gods aren’t meant to mingle ??? i guess

how many “gods” have been caught or killed or almost killed , latios dies in the latios/latias movie , victini can’t break out of an alchemy wall ??? reshiram and zekrom have to be STONES for a while, so it isn’t that humans can surpass gods naturally

its that gods have to weaken themselves to interact with the world

jirachi, xerneas, and yveltal sleep for thousand year intervals , zygarde was split into CELLS , and clearly when gods are given their full powers , eg blue and red orbs , the whole ecosystem of the planet shifted so uh of course humans can beat gods when they ABIDE BY THE LAWS OF THE UNIVERSE

for those of you who know lord of the rings, unova is also like GONDOR, where it’s ok to compare adaliz ( az ) to isildur… or his brother anarion. actually definitely anarion.

the main castle is basically MINAS TIRITH, it’s huge, shiny, & can also serve as a stronghold.

[ minas tirith ] was divided into seven one-hundred-foot high levels, each surrounded by white walls, except the first walls which had the same kind of black stone as orthanc as a face. the gates connecting the levels did not lay behind one another in a line, but faced in different directions. a spur of rock, whose summit was level with the city’s uppermost tier, jutted out from the front of the city in an easterly direction, dividing all but the first level into two. […] each level was scattered with many alleys, narrow passageways, & full-fledged houses ( which were probably quite rare in the city). On the sixth level were located the Houses of Healing, surrounded by pleasant gardens. Finally, within the seventh wall, was the citadel of minas tirith, with the white tower of ecthelion - three hundred feet high, so that its apex was one thousand feet above the plain, the fountain, the leafless white tree, & merethrond, […] upon the saddle between the city & mindolluin were the houses of the dead - a tomb for the kings of gondor & their stewards.

if the plasma templar are equivalent to the knights of dol amroth, or at least the higher up grunts & the grand knight generals ( the unseen admins ) are like the guards of the citadel, then honestly this makes a ton of sense. like minas tirith, unova has its own equivalent to osgiliath, the kingdom of the vale. this is where king romaya ruled & where he raised his twin sons, tevrien ( the first harmonia hero of ideals ) & his younger brother idraeil ( the only harmonia hero of truth, unless we go with hero of truth n ).

the decline of [ osgiliath ] was greatly accelerated by the GREAT PLAGUE […] many of its people died from the disease, while others fled to remote parts of the country, few of whom returned. severely depopulated, osgiliath began to fall into ruin. in 1640, tarondor, whose predecessor telemnar had died from the plague, moved the capital permanently to minas anor. telemnar might as well be the equivalent to mirinel harmonia, except it’s his uncle who dies. after sauron was defeated & the fourth age began, aragorn II elessar, the new king of gondor, may have rebuilt the city, but he kept minas tirith as his capital. pretend aragorn II is n & sauron is ghetsis w/e.

the father of the current king , ghetsis harmonia . ezaveyl harmonia was blessed by ho - oh , the phoenix . born from the love of a healer & a scion , it was said that ezaveyl could revive himself from his own ashes … a metaphor , although he could survive many things that would be fatal to others . after the death of his mother , ezaveyl traveled the world , too sorrowful to stay in the castle with his father — although he realized later that he should’ve stayed at least a while . it is a guilt that he carried for the rest of his life .

ezaveyl married lalah bahrami , the guardian of shaymin — & four years after their son was born , she fell to the harmonia curse . in retaliation , her brother , a scion of purity , punished ezaveyl by turning back time , supposedly to save his sister . ezaveyl was faced with laleh’s death thirty times ( he also had the joy of holding his newborn son thirty times ) before solomon could no longer turn back time . it is his nature as the son of a scion himself & with the phoenix - god’s blessing that he did not die immediately of solomon’s curse , although he fell gravely ill & was often bedridden .

ezaveyl was killed by his own son, & with the sorry condition his body was in, it was very much an act of mercy.

return to THE REIGN OF SANIVAR HARMONIA & HIS LEGEND .

the holy healer of the people , razayen was beloved by the goddess of the moon , lunala . strongest on the full moons , it was on a full moon that he healed the people who had been trapped in his father’s eternal darkness for so long . learning to master both the arcane secrets of adaliz as well as spellcraft , razayen’s miracles gained him prestige around the world . an avid traveler , he eventually met & married a lovely scion of kindness .

however , the war his father had left unfinished reached unovan shores — in the chaos , razayen’s partner pokemon , a salamence , was killed , in his grief , he closed himself off — he was unable to save his wife from her illness . the death of the scion placed a second curse on razayen , but the twisted love of arceus kept him alive .

confined to the castle in a body all but dead , razayen continued to make miraculous healing potions that he would have delivered to the people of unova . he is noted to have been kind until the end , taking care of the castle staff even when he had little energy for himself . despite his horrific appearance at the end of his life , he is one of the most beloved kings of unova .

OK HERE WE GO ft the map of opelucid that i promised also ft im really into lord of the rings so of course it sorta resembles minas tirith so UH

as a brief overview of opelucid in general , built in many layers , it is the crown city of unova , the seat of power of the harmonia family , at least since the later years of the reign of the king of dragons , dolav . opelucid is by far the most prosperous city in unova , but that’s because ghetsis lives there & he’s literally a god — not to say the rest of unova isn’t prosperous , it is , but i’ll talk about unova’s economy in a different post . so , i’ve numbered & color coded things .  

1 - opelucid citadel , or the harmonia castle . 2 - opelucid city’s gym . 3 - entrance to the tomb of the kings where the bodies of former kings or relatives ( namely spouses ) are buried . 4 - path to route 10 , which goes to the league . 5 - path to route 9 . 6 - path to route 11 . 7 - holy shrine , colored blue on this diagram . 8 - path to a different level of the city . these are marked in red , this is how people get from level to level . there aren’t that many , which is basically what makes opelucid impossible to totally take over , because the king will know before u can get all the soldiers to a second level . 9 - innermost wall of opelucid . reinforced by arcane methods , beyond this is the harmonia castle & upper district , which contains housing for the plasma templar , armories , & training grounds .  10 - lower district . where most everyday folk of opelucid live & enjoy their lives . the second tier is where ‘ nobility ’ lives , which counts people like drayen or iris . 11 - a museum which was built around some ancient ruins . it isn’t the only museum , but it’s the most notable . 12 - guard tower , this should be self explanatory . they are colored pink on this diagram . 13 - for some reason i started labeling all the paths to higher districts of the city whoops . 14 - the sacred gardens , originally planted by cazaveyl harmonia , they are also now filled with gracedia flowers , thanks to ghetsis’ mother . 15 - mountains . behind this is a fairly large river that separates the league’s area from the rest of unova … or something .

return to THE REIGN OF CAZAVEYL HARMONIA & HIS LEGEND .

infamous for a few reasons , sanivar was very likely unova’s least favorite harmonia . horrified by witnessing his father’s death , sanivar realized that even to close off one’s heart did not spare them from the curse . with no mother to guide him & a distant father , sanivar’s main company as a child came in the form of tutors or books . as he grew up , sanivar began to hide his true nature as a prince of nightmares by manipulating people into believing he had been blessed by cresselia , that he was the person they always had dreamed of . it is regarded as unova’s greatest scam , as sanivar’s reign actually began in the year 1203 CE . historians simply count it from his father’s death due to the establishment of a form of parliament — the sages .

sanivar was known for having many lovers . he is the only harmonia to have a multitude of male heirs , most illegitimate . sanivar was married twice . once to the mother of his heir , razayen , who died in childbirth , & then to a young woman whose name has been lost to history . it is said the second queen was murdered by sanivar’s lovers . despite never killing his beloved directly , the curse regardless passed to the crown prince .

in his grief , sanivar put himself under a similar dreamlike state that he had placed the kingdom under , tricking himself into believing that he was not simply laying with other women , but that he was with one of his queens who he genuinely adored . this mind - game resulted in many illegitimate heirs , none of who survived to adulthood due to the vicious nature of his many lovers who had grown jealous of each other . any lovers who would have bore him daughters & thus broken the curse died with their babies , a great tragedy . facing loss after loss , sanivar’s emotional state deteriorated & he plunged unova into its dark age , revealing his true nightmarish nature .

he met his end while overseas in hoenn , in an attempt to calm two raging gods , he was slain by kyogre’s altar . twenty arrows in his back . his body was never recovered , but his son was brought his father’s sword wrapped in a tattered white cloak . some say that sightings of sanivar in a place called alamos town hundreds of years after his death , as he was seen in photos with a woman named alicia , but it later turned out that this was simply his true patron , darkrai , using the image of the late king to blend in with the people . it has been confirmed by historians that the famous oración melody was taught to alicia by darkrai , who learned it from sanivar .

return to THE REIGN OF FERANOS HARMONIA & HIS LEGEND .

the gardens of opelucid citadel were originally cazaveyl’s — due to his horrid relationship with his father , cazaveyl was wary of people & found that with a mysterious blessing , he was capable of bringing life to other things . he loved flowers for their beauty , & in many ways , was much like the crown prince of kalos , lysandre , would be in the future , valuing beauty over all other things .

it is said that the one woman cazaveyl loved died in childbirth with his heir , sanivar . beyond this ‘ lady of the flowers ’ , cazaveyl was said to have loved no one but himself . keeping his son at arm’s length & simply forming superficial bonds with the members of his court , cazaveyl poured the energy that he wasn’t using to try to maintain his father’s defensive barriers to tending to the gardens & his own self .

while many history books skim over his ridiculous vanity , if ever there was a king who believed himself perfect , it was cazaveyl . he is the only king to have taken his own life , passing the curse to his son . after cazaveyl’s death , it is noted that the sword of truth & ideals would only respond to one of the harmonia bloodline , since it had been drenched in harmonia blood .  

return to THE REIGN OF DOLAV HARMONIA & HIS LEGEND .

born after the death of dolav’s haxorus , feranos was known as lord of winter . legend says that he was born the embodiment of the sin of envy . while he was constantly fighting with his court , feranos was also a master strategist , much like ceraeion fieorel , it is said he never lost a battle — & he was never known to bleed . for his horrid personality , his reign ushered in an age of safety in unova . there were no enemy forces that made it past the first arcane barrier without being blown to bits by icy winds & devastating stormy seas , all thanks to the power of the king .

his relationships with his queens were strained , his fourth bore him a son , cazaveyl — who he quickly grew jealous of . feranos murdred his queen when she protected their son . it is said that years later , cazaveyl killed his father with the same sword that his father used to kill his mother . feranos’ tomb is covered in ice , & some believe his spirit still lingers .

lord of the dragons , dolav , much like his ancestor , romaya , possessed an incredible psychic power . unlike romaya , dolav’s power manifested in unparalleled clairvoyance . it would not be until the modern psychic , olympia , that any person would come close to dolav’s power of clairvoyance . after seeing a vision of his father’s acts , dolav isolated himself from humans & chose instead to bond with the many dragon types that lived near dragonspiral . many scholars believe that this avoidance was out of fear for his own life . after mirinel’s death , dolav was the first king to have a regency , as he was still quite young at his father’s passing . after his coming of age , he took full control of the kingdom .

dolav’s main companion is recorded to be a haxorus that he had raised from an egg , along her entire evolutionary line . a dragon type , she was his loyal companion for a good 400 years . records say that she was killed by her own king while he was in a drunken rage — scholars believe that dolav had been attempting to suppress his disturbing premonitions by dulling his senses . a century after haxorus’ death , dolav met & married a young woman who would be the mother of his heir . there are no records of any marriages beforehand , despite his long reign & life .  dolav’s wife died of natural causes , & scholars believe that due to haxorus’ death , the family curse had already taken hold , sparing the queen an untimely death . after the death of the queen , dolav left dragonspiral & took residence in opelucid citadel , where the family would remain for the rest of their generations .

an oddity in the family , mirinel harmonia is posthumously known as KING OF THE DUSK , or by those who had feared his power , LORD OF THE DEAD . after the fire that leveled his father’s castle , mirinel moved the family to dragonspiral citadel , which at the time was still under construction . having witnessed the destruction caused by reshiram , mirinel was understandably terrified of fire — but strangely welcoming of death . his partner pokemon was dusknoir , a spirit from the world of the dead .

for centuries , mirinel handled his grief with the fact that he could communicate with those in the world of the dead , never having to miss anything but his mother’s embrace — after all , she was still there , she could still sing him to sleep . he kept the spirit of his mother a secret from his father , knowing it would only hurt him , as tevrien was unable to see human souls from the world of the dead . mirinel was married five times , as his reign stretched over 750 years . soon after marrying his fifth queen , mirinel began to be plagued by horrid nightmares & was noted to become suspicious of everyone around him . not long after the birth of his son , dolav , mirinel ordered the execution of half of his court — including his queen . he called it treason against the crown , although with the death of his beloved came the sudden end to the nightmares & paranoia . realizing that he’d feared for nothing , mirinel mourned the loss of those he had wronged . it is said he died of grief within the next ten years .

the eldest son of king romaya , tevrien was chosen as hero of ideals . living over a thousand years , he kept his role in the civil war of the kingdom of the vale as hidden as he could , instead building a name for himself as a hero of the people . his younger twin brother , idraeil , was known as hero of truth & while their childhood was happy , as they grew older & their views differed on such fundamental levels , the two decided to deal with the problem of the dragonforce in vastly different ways . while idraeil’s method in the end would have been more practical for the long run , tevrien earned the love of the common - folk with his ‘ people oriented ’ method . the end result was the two brothers clashing in a battle that wiped out almost half of the population of the kingdom , a war in which tevrien bested idraeil —- idraeil fell from reshiram’s back into the raging dragonforce , ending his life . when the dust settled , tevrien , now king upon his father’s death , moved the survivors to a new land . what he does not say is that there were people he left behind , his brother’s supporters , to face the ‘ truth ’ of the land . in the end , the land healed , but if it hadn’t …

tevrien’s castle is known as the relic castle . when tevrien’s heir , mirinel , was still a child , tevrien attempted to harness the power of reshiram , believing that with the loss of his brother , he could command the dragon of truth as well . reshiram leveled half of the castle to the ground & left tevrien severely burned . the king lost his beloved queen & loyal retainer in the fire , his son escaped physically unscathed by a miracle , or so it would seem . when tevrien’s wounds had healed enough to have him moved from the ruined castle , he was taken to a third castle ( still in construction at the time ) where he died later of grief & guilt .

known by history as ‘ golden hero ’ . the son of the immortal adaliz & the enchanting dorothea harmonia , romaya’s returned to the region of unova after living for a time in galar . his return to unova led to the establishment of the kingdom of the vale ( kingdom of the earth ) , its most historic surviving landmark being the sword of the vale ( sword of the earth ) , the castle from which he ruled over the people for well over a thousand years . historians who have visited the ruins of the kingdom of the vale have found evidence of romaya’s peculiar nature as well as his fascination with golems . many scholars believe that romaya is the creator of golett & golurk . legend says that romaya is the person who gave life to the legendary meloetta , a failed attempt to revive a lost family member , usually thought to be the unborn sister he lost when his mother died .

archaeological digs in the land that once was romaya’s kingdom revealed a disturbing truth . romaya’s reign ended with the stabilization of the dragonforce , but before his sacrifice , many citizens died . due to an inability to cope with the loss of his people , the remains of golems made to take their place have been discovered . historians believe the bodies of the people were buried in the catacombs beneath the sword of the vale .

historical records show that romaya is the only harmonia king to have two heirs , twin brothers tevrien & idraeil who were chosen as hero of ideals & truth . it is said that their very souls clashed in a manner that caused a devastating war which ended with idraeil’s death & romaya’s decision to cut off the destructive power of the dragonforce using the mysterious power of the sword of the vale .

a lesser known fact to those who do not reside in the lands of eindoak ( the remnants of the kingdom of the vale ) , is that romaya was the hero of victory , blessed with great power from victini , who is most commonly known for her connection to the king of the empire of ydvraesia , ceraeion fieorel . romaya’s abilities manifested under victini’s secondary type , psychic , allowing him unparalleled telekinetic abilities . it is with this power that he cut off the power of the dragonforce , although that feat ultimately cost him his life .

after the death of idraeil & romaya , the new king , tevrien , built a new castle away from his father’s land .
