Hi, yeah I did delete it because I remembered I promised myself I'd keep politics away from my blog, but thank you for saying that. I often lose my nerve with some of my takes!

After how Mexico and their fans have behaved this World Cup, it feels sweet that my country delivered the killing blow to their World Cup aspirations.

Even with everything working in Mexico's favour, they still couldn't beat England.

or here’s a novel idea- it’s none of our business. If and when Joe gets into a relationship and wants to be public with it- he will be.

If you want your can-never-do-wrong, man of the year to continue to utilise small businesses to make his merch, to continue to tour on a regular basis, to continue to not only tour but tour abroad, to keep doing it with the band we know (Wes, Javi, Trent, Sam, Adam, formerly Teddy) who will be out of normal work whilst touring, to choose to sell merch in which all the proceeds go to a charity, and to remain independent for artistic integrity, then the money has to come from somewhere.

Doing deals like the one he has just done with Chase is one of the ways he can get another show in without having to shell out most of the cost, which may be the line between him being able to and not being able to do the show. And yet people weren't happy with that because "most fans don't have a credit card" or "he's picking on the rich fans". Do you want the show or not guys???

There is absolutely something to say for requesting fair prices, and addressing the disparity in price versus what is received between places/tours, which I know a lot of fans are wanting.

But COME ON GUYS just because YOU can't afford something doesn't mean that the price is wrong or that he's a sell out. Sometimes you just don't have the money and that's not on Joe!

All of this.

People need to be realistic. If we want him to continue to be an independent artist and to release music and tour as regularly as he is-the money to fund that has to come from somewhere. There has to be some give and understanding from the fans.

I know people are touchier about tickets for shows, etc, due to how extortionate everything is becoming but his tickets have always been reasonably priced if you don't need VIP and just want the show.

The Chase show should enable him to do a bit more touring and get his name out there whilst not on his dime. He needs to do these kinds of shows to keep going as he is.

I've seen people call him greedy/a sell out for doing the show and the meet and greet, but the thing is, we all know those same people would be breaking down the door to get those tickets if they could. So, they're trying to hide their jealousy behind "moral principles," and honestly-it doesn't sit right.

Some of the people who were calling him the most have been to multiple shows (all VIP/barricade) buy every bit of merch and everything he releases (all fine-this is their money) but the second he does something they're not able to get their mitts on-he's a greedy sell-out to the capitalist gods as if they don't feed it enough themselves.

I haven't really seen them up close (just in the dim lighting) so can't make a judgement, but some of his fashion choices are a choice, indeed!

In the end- Joe is an independent artist and if he wants to continue to make music and tour free of the backing of a major label- he needs to make money to fund that.

people want him to tour endlessly and then get mad when he tries to make money to help him do that.
