But it’s more fun to curse people when your DC is 33 for the most basic bestow curse spell. Sure, I could heal you and give you a reroll, but I could also touch the final boss of your adventure that’s likely to TPK with a Major Curse, have him roll twice and take the lower, then if he still succeeds, make him reroll the higher die, and if he still succeeds, have it persistent and make him do the same thing next round while I do the same thing that round and make him roll twice as much. When he finally fails, amnesia so he loses all class levels and memory. Now doesn’t that sound much more fun than 24 points of healing?

BTW that character is level 14, currently has a 36 charisma, gonna become a lich at 15 which gives a +2 cha. The phylactery will also be a +6 headband, totaling 8. At 16th level, an ability score increase will add 1 to cha, totaling 9. And the GM gave us a scroll that can add +1 to the numeric effect of one item. I’ve been saving it for the +6 headband to make it 7, totaling 10. The 36 cha will be a 46 cha at level 16. That’s a bonus of 18. And because she will be a lich, undead, her hit points will be focused on charisma, changing her passive hit point bonus from 15d8+1d6+0 (11 con and 1 level of sorcerer for bloodline bonuses) to 15d8+1d6+288.  It’ll also be funny that I’ll be a LE lich that heals the party with positive channeling.

I have a 36 charisma from starting max of 18, human racial +2, venerable age +3. 3rd party curse that the GM allowed was Aged, which let me be venerable age with only middle age penalties at my level. That makes 23 plus levels 4, 8, and 12 ability boosts makes 26. I managed to find a Tome of Leadership and Influence +5, and bought 5 wishes to add 5 charisma which makes 36, then the others I mentioned will make 46. I have almost no gear because of this. I am currently extremely squishy.

I originally had this character focused on healing because they went way too long without a healer before I joined. But it was so boring not being able to do anything but heal. So I started to focus on curses. Oracles and curses come naturally, so why not pass on the curses. Be like Oprah. AND YOU GET A CURSE! AND YOU GET A CURSE!

Right now we are running through Rise of the Runelords and that’s my plan for the big bad guy at the end. Round one cast a quickened ill omen then Amnesia with a hightened, persistant major curse with a reach rod. I suppose I can’t make them reroll with misfortune if I quicken cuz they’re both swift actions. Well, misfortune is immediate, but it takes the swift. Next round if he succeeded I can with the persistant and make him roll 3 times cuz persistant, reroll and new round casting again.

Heightened Persistant Major Curse DC at level 16 = 10 + (heightened) level 6 spell (persistant makes it 8 but doesnt increase the DC. I can’t do 9 at level 16 cuz I don’t have level 9 spells yet) + 18 Cha mod = 35 + 2 greater spell focus (necromancy) + 2 curse dc from dark fey sorcerer bloodline + 2 ability focus (spellcasting) = 41 I’m pretty sure I’m missing things cuz I know I had it higher before. Actually, I should do conditional curse instead of major curse cuz the DC will be the same from me heightening it and conditional curse has close range rather than touch. Major curse just makes the DC to remove it at +5, which won’t matter if he has no class levels and can’t do anything. Though I need a reasonable condition to set that he wouldn’t be able to achieve before we kill him, but possible to do within 1 year and 1 day cuz that’s the condition of the spell. And while looking up the spell, I realized that it also gets the +5 DC to remove, so yeah, it’s totally better to use.

And carrying your phylactery on your person kind of defeats the purpose of having a phylactery in the first place. If someone takes you down, they can just waste your phylactery then and there.

And seriously, Ability Focus (Spells)? For real? We’re approaching some Candle of Invocation shit here. Wait a sec, you’re Lawful Evil. You *did* use a Candle of Invocation, didn’t you?

Yes, my dear followers, that’s right. I’ve been out of the GMing game for a couple of months now, and I’d very much like to get back in, and make a few new friends while I’m at it. Therefore, I am starting a new campaign, and I’m looking for 2-4 more players to join me at my virtual table.

No previous role playing experience is required. I will be more than happy to teach the rules to any new players we get. All I ask for is enthusiasm, comprehensible spoken English, rudimentary social skills and that you’re old enough to set your own bedtime. It will be a voice game played over Skype, using virtual dice. Our preliminary game time is Thursdays, 6PM, UTC+1. I intend for the campaign to begin in early January.

The game will be FATE, one of the simpler games out there, and the campaign itself is essentially dieselpunk. Post world war one, the player characters will be operatives of the league of nations, their mission being peace through superior firepower. There will be impossible diesel-powered tech, sorcery and occultism, mad science, super spies and 1920-30-40’s pulp. Heads will roll like dice, and history will hopefully be made - as opposed to destroyed.
