i don’t wanna be a meanie meanie out of touch twenty something ripping on a movie that i think the teens may genuinely enjoy but i am obsessed with the craft: legacy’s costume choices so far, and in a bad way. and i was thinking about the weirdo girls (i say this fondly, they are my primary inspirations in life and raised me with their own two hands) i grew up seeing in movies and tv like nancy downs and janis ian and lynn searcy and allison reynolds and carrie white and ginger fitzgerald and even like jade west and, well,

idk i’m not getting “outcasts” from these girls, they’re dressed like the lighter versions of the very popular girls i went to high school with but wasn’t friends with. like big girl in the plaid pants is serving me pure unfiltered 2020 hot topic plus sizes but the rest of them?

they’re very stylish! and that’s not bad, it’s a movie for teenagers and teenagers like clothes. the ladies of the original craft were very grunge but that was on trend and stylish at the time. the trendiness and color is not the problem. like….. And again, most of these movies were from different decades, style changes every minute and i am 23 with a bachelors from 5 years of undergrad and have no idea what 16 year olds like because i’m not on tiktok and never will be, but…

like THIS? this is great, the playing with makeup is great, it’s a weird girl pastime, i used to smudge gold shimmer on my eyelids every morning before slipping on my ripped uniform violation tights, leather jacket, fingerless gloves, cat ear beanie, and squeaky patent leather docs, we LIVE for that BUT
