A Butler's Journey

I like to be called: Arsene will do. 

One thing you should know about me (or several): OOC I am a rather busy guy. I’m a father of two, and got solid eight-to-four work schedule, both which bring a good chunk of responsibilities/benefits outside of the game. Still like to play on my spare time, but not quite as actively as I may have used to. 

Really like RP’ing, and I’m always open for plots and stories both in-game and on Tumblr for example (go ahead and dm me, I also have the “Ask” button :3). Arsene is my “main” OC, and he’s the sort of person who is quite tied to his own storyline, making him a bit tougher partner to RP with, I do have alts tho, so... Go ahead!

One thing you should know about my muse(s)(Or several):

Arsene is the Butler in Blacksoul Manor, and servant of Varg Blacksoul ( @umbralich ). I like playing WHM, and that’s what Arsene’s OOC job is, hard emphasize on the “OOC”. During his younger days he was a brawler of sort (read Arsene’s story for further info), and monk would be closest to that. I have leveled the job, but ended up hating it, so.. XD

Other OC’s you can poke at; Horus Blackwood, Dark Realm, Bjorn Lunasch, Sekhmet Neferu (Sekhmet will turn Hrothgar during Endwalker, so she’s still quite OOC)

LAYER ONE: THE OUTSIDE

Name: “The name’s Horus.”

Eye Color: Horus leans forward over the table, her eyes widened in an exaggerated manner, staring directly at you. “I think they are sort of lilac. What do you think, hmmm?” Horus grins, falling back to her seat.

Hair Style/Color: “Black like a winter’s night”

Height: “Um.. I really am not certain. Tall enough not to need any help picking up stuff from the higher counter.”

Clothing Style: “I just wear whatever as long as moving around is easy. Leather looks good, and feels good. Kinda gives out a professional impression, doesn’t it?” Horus smirks.

Best Physical Feature: “Well, I think having long limbs and long ears has it’s perks.”

LAYER TWO: THE INSIDE

Your Fears: Horus crosses her arms lazily before her chest, tilting her head slightly. “I fear power. I fear greed. For those are things that, when combined within an individual, make them come up with all kinds of stupid ideas. Ideas that might as well lead others, or even themselves, into the early grave.”

Your Guilty Pleasure: “Watching others make obvious mistakes. There’s no better feeling than when telling smartasses how wrong they are.”

Your Biggest Pet Peeve: “People who think they are better than others. In the end, it’s the steel, lead, and time that they all obey.”

Your Ambition for the Future: “Hm, I don’t know. To live happily for ever after, or whatever.”

LAYER THREE: THOUGHTS

Your First Thoughts Waking Up: “To check if there is someone sleeping next to me. If the sight is hideous, I’ll just close my eyes tight and open them again, hoping they will be gone. Then maybe some breakfast.”

What You Think About Before Bed: “Well that’s just stupid.. You’re not supposed to think about anything if you want to sleep in the first place.”

Lie: “No.” Horus smiles widely, staring at you.

Believe in Yourself: “Yes. I have to, in order to survive in this world of ordeals.”

Believe in Love: “Oh sure… The life would be such a bore without some good old love.”

Want Someone: “In what manner? Romantically? Sexually? Want someone dead? Yes.”

LAYER SIX: EVER?

Been on Stage: “Nah. I think that’s a sport for the beautiful veggies.”

Done Drugs: “Sure. What’s yours?”

Changed Who You Were to Fit In: “Never. You should be true to yourself, you know? They’ll find out if you’re not..”

LAYER SEVEN: FAVORITES

Favorite Color: “Blue. And orange. The colors of dawn and dusk.”

Favorite Animal: “Cats have proven to be quite nice. In many ways.”

Favorite Food: “I love me some roasted meat... With rye bread, and a pint of ale. I’m such a savage.”

Favorite Game: “Foreplay.”

LAYER EIGHT: AGE

Day Your Next Birthday Will Be: “You know, when there are so many other things to be conserned about, you kind of forget such dates. I’ve never been good with dates anyway.”

How Old Will You Be: “You shouldn’t ask.”

Age You Lost Your Virginity: “Oh, I was a grown, mature woman when that happened. I was a good kid.”

Does Age Matter: “Well, it depends on the situation, right? But mostly, nah.”

LAYER NINE: IN A BOY OR GIRL

Best Personality: “The best trait in one’s personality is humility. Know your place.”

Best Eye Color: “Everything goes. But I think I have a thing for pale colors.”

Best Hair Color: “Black. Like a winter’s night.” Horus lets out a bit of a chuckle.

Best thing to do with a Partner: “Oh, you can do just anything as long as you have trust for each other. If not, well, that will be complicated. Then you should really consider.”

LAYER TEN: FINISH THE SENTENCE

I love: “The smell after rain.”

I feel: “A little uncomfortable, to be completely honest.”

I hide: “If you seek.”

I miss: “Nothing really, at the moment, at least.”

I wish: “You a good evening now.” Horus rises to her feet, gives you a polite glance accompanied with a nod, and proceeds to leave the room.

Black moon dragged along the night sky, slowly and inevitably, like an old person limping the final steps before succumbing to the eternal rest below.

The pair of sellswords were almost at the end of their long journey. Horus and Dark Realm had recently paired up to continue with what was previously forced away from them by the twist of fate. But this time it was all different, and both of these weary fortune hunters knew it.

Working for wrong people had not only given them a group of new enemies to accompany those who were against the pair before, but this turn of events had also changed Dark Realm.

The man had previously been unpredictable and dangerous, yet the confrontation with Asagi Homura, leading to Dark Realm's injury, had only strengthened all of the roegadyn's aspects; the man had turned into what almost resembled a beast. The brain injury had led to this.

Dark Realm's lust for blood was now insatiable. He was hallucinating. His physical strength was seemingly boosted, yet his mental state had wavered. This was something that worried Horus the most. There was times when Horus’ partner seemed rather close to what he used to be before the incident, yet there was something so very different about him, present all the time, but hiding beneath. Still, at times this different man would find his way into the surface.

Dark Realm would become mindless. Almost as if he was blinded by his hatred and bloodlust, becoming nothing but a walking corpse who hungered for the blood of his victims. His senses were numbed. His mind was frozen. The song of love his heart once had beaten for Horus was now nothing but a wailing death rattle, a voice drowned somewhere beneath the deafening scream of madness and lust for blood that fogged Dark Realm’s mind.

Something had to be done. Horus was not ready to give up on Dark Realm, the only man she loved. The first thought had been to return Dark Realm to Varg Blacksoul, the man who had taken care of Dark Realm before. He would know if there was anything to be done to the situation, to make it better, or at least more tolerable. But it had very soon come clear this would not be an option. Not after the whole fiasco. If Blacksoul was in a good mood he would tell the two to fuck off without receiving any kind of a treatment at all. If he was in a bad mood, well… he could as well do much worse. Varg Blacksoul was very well aware of both Horus and Dark Realm’s real colours, and a pair of criminals walking up to him, with good intentions or otherwise, would most likely turn very ugly for them, moreover after having first betrayed his trust.

The choice at hand was the only one, and desperate at that. During their travel Horus and Dark Realm had heard a lead of a certain man, an outcast, someone with medical knowledge for mental illnesses and their treatment. The problem was not only that the pair had no idea if someone had just tried to screw them over by telling lies, but also, if this lead held any truth behind it, then what kind of a person there was waiting for them?

Arsene’s name is a homage/reference to the character Arsène Lupin III, from the manga/anime series Lupin III.
